Moving onto actual taxes, you know that airports and infraestructures in general are not paid with promises and good will? Or anything related to welfare system? Be grateful it's not Ancient Greece where you had to provide for everything you're going to use in war and war drills (basically until you turned 30) just to get a chance to live your life and get your citizenship at the age of 35 if you survived that long. And in war you may still need to fight to save your ass and country, so you may start paying for your weapons, shield and armour but ending paying for the horse and even for a whole trireme. And those were one heck of a ship.
