If the author really planned this it had to be with more chapters in mind. The world building and characters were very good for 15 chapters, but then this brick wall of exposition hits trying to tell an entirely different esoteric final act. It might have actually worked if given 30 to 40 chapters, maybe.
I'm not a fan of how it ended, but honestly this scuffed delivery of the author's odd reincarnation cosmogeny is still better than all the fucking self-insert "battle against the fake god" bullshit stories being pumped out. Seriously, if I see one more damned video game, manga, or movie based on gnostic theology I'm going to lose my mind.
