How are you certain the body is Eikichi, and that Mikura is a clone? Im impressed this conclusion was jumped to so quickly. My memory is hazy due to monthly releases.
The clothing looks like his and he was the only other person on the island that was unaccounted for.

For Mikura, we saw the extra brain case in chapter 46 and Sakota talks to it. The first can be seen in this chapter and the second is presumably Nata. In chapter 47 Mikura couldn't use the brain scan to authenticate herself as the Director. Sakota also previously told her the body would be too young for her brain, and then in the recent chapters she stated that she didn't feel like her brain was old and actually matched her body, which was foreshadowing that they literally made another, younger brain for the transplant and the original Director has been sitting in the incubator room the entire time.

She rejected humanity, and thus the creation of humanity rejected her in turn.
She thought that she was in hell before, but that was nothing compared to what lay in store for her, born of her own plans and actions.
The afterlife will be even worse for her.
Are you referring to Mikura/Shino Kaminaka? I'm perplexed by her reaction here. Unless she's been humanized over the course of her experience with Sachio and Nanoha, I don't know why she's so surprised. What was her intention to begin with?

In Ch.44, Mikura says to Sachio and Nanoha "Congratulations. The era of hell can no longer be restored. The age of humanity has come to an end." If her intention wasn't the Hiruko.... what was her vision of Heaven in the first place? Simply a world without humans?

Edit: I believe the Director/Mikuras original intent was just to create a new race of "superior" humans.

That's... insane. How did you piece this together?

Also, there's only one brain case shown in the current chapter.... it can be implied that at some point between Ch.46 and 70, that brain was implanted into the robot which became Nata. I wonder who did it.

Well more like, if the brain in Mikura is not the original, then how can we be sure that the brain in Kiruko’s body is really the original Haruki’s? I’m not saying that there’s good evidence that Kiruko has a clone brain but this chapter made me consider that possibility.
Very interesting. I wonder how they managed to replicate a brain, and copy its contents unto another. "Copying its contents" is of course greatly under-describing the feat, as brains are immensely complex.

Id imagine the technology used on Mikura is much different from what Sakota did for Kiruko though.

Can't believe Meena doesn't understand how evolution works. Can you really call yourself "superior" if you still get stuck in the trap of personifying it?
From what I understand, Meena is brute-forcing evolution, with the Directors super-human children as the impetus. Inherently the world is "evolving" to its next stage. Advancing? Probably not from our lens, but it is subjective. If the Hiruko are truly "superior", more adaptable and resilient beings, it can be considered evolutionary.

I'm more talking about Meena seemingly believing that humanity has evolved to this point specifically to create her. Even though evolution doesn't happen for anything.

MY BRAIN! I CANT WAIT LONGER FOR THIS AND I AM ONLY LEFT WITH MORE QUESTIONS!

Okay, but for real, I didn’t expect this to be the answer and tbh I find it a bit of a letdown. BUT! Considering there’s still the ancient hiruko, I feel like Meena isn’t telling us the truth or the whole truth here. Something is a bit fishy about this story of hers… Also the freaking brain clone transplant is absolutely freaking insane especially upon realizing I never noticed the foreshadowing whilst it was there the whole time.

There’s many more questions that have to be answered and I don’t know how I’m gonna pull through till the next chapter. Kudos to the author!

A four month hiatus..... after THAT?!

With the current state of AI in our own world, this was such a welcome twist. Really love the direction this is going.

What i'm most curious about is: When and how did Mikura end up with Maru after this, and how does Yamato fit into the picture? Where is he, and what is the fate of Tokio?

On Page 385, does anyone recall which baby they're carrying, Yamato or Maru?

I wonder why there's two Shino Kaminaka's.

Theres so much to dig into.
It’s not a four month hiatus. The May 2025 issue gets released in March 2025. It’s a standard one extra month break. It’s standard practice for many magazines to have cover dates two months ahead of their actual release date.

Nata told Kiruko and Maru it was doctor who did it. Which makes sense since he is the brain transplant guy.

So this chapter we learned:
  • Eikichi passed away on the island
  • Mina's goals and the reason for the disease
  • Mikura is actually a cloned brain of the director and not her herself
Which leaves these left to occur/be revealed:
  • Purpose and creation of the syringe Mikura gave Kiruko and Maru (also includes why she was looking for him and knew about his powers)
  • Tokio's current status and possibly meeting her
  • How the kids on the island and Sakota left and why Eikichi likely stayed and died
  • How and why Ohma, Michika and Kuku separated from Sakota, Kona and Tokio and how Ohma separated from Michika after that (and Michika from the Takezukas)
  • Kiruko finding someone to develop the photos (maybe meeting Ran?)
  • Finding Yamato
  • Purpose of Kiruko's dream and if Maru will turn into a man-eater (and if anything needs to be done for the other children of hiruko)
  • Purpose of Robin's experiments and second confrontation (possibly on the island?)
  • Why there's an ancient Hiruko
  • How Nibiru appeared out of nowhere and how Mina knew
  • What Asura's intentions were, why they killed themself and what Mimihime's vision of them meant
There's quite a lot still left in the story. Some of these may be handled together, for example Michika is expected to appear again since they're still hunting for Robin and at that point we'll likely learn how they got off the island as kids, why they were separated from everyone afterwards, and so on.
OK say that again but with nicknames, bad memory+monthly releases=can't remember names whatsoever

It’s a huge let down when you realise that probably the smartest guy in this universe (Dr. Sawatari) is dead. I think if Maru and Kiruko had shown him the antidote Maru was carrying then he would have worked on making more

I don’t think any brains are having their memory copied or duplicated. I’m guessing the duplicate person in the room is a baby clone.

Remarkable kids with tragically short lifespans, behind which is a terrible secret? I’m getting Children of the Whales vibes from this.
