Jesus... I know the reference from the credits page, that one isn't an oldie per se, but it was pretty niche... not the best and it can get a little distasteful, but it was "interesting", Wolf Guy from the author of Akumetsu.

I'm half expecting panels upon panels of staring each other down in a tense stand-off (or crouch-off) if that one duel from Vagabond is anything to go by. Or maybe it'll be the exact opposite to throw off our expectations of how an iaijutsu master fights.

Not going to lie I think the baby monk gonna win, almost every winner in Tenkaichi is younger than the opponent, the only loser was sasaki kojiro and we all know that he didn't really lose and will have more plot down the line.

I sure like both of the fighters here. I expect the kid is pretty much fucked, though, but hey, maybe he’ll scrape by alive somehow, who knows?

But would you bet on this (no child murder) enough to believe that he'll win the whole tournament? Personally I think he's narratively unlikely to win the whole thing, and so I assume that the manga is fine with either child murder or a match result that doesn't involve death.

I'm betting this will be an awesome fight. People got used to yusake vs togo being 1 attack per chapter, and forgot most of the manga wasn't that. The togo fight just ended up that way to emphasise togo's unbridled offensive might. It was a very gimmicky fight. I liked yusake initially but he wasn't interesting enough to carry that fight.

Hopefully this reaches toda vs fuma or mushashi vs hondo levels of great.

To be fair. The match ups seem to have opposing ideas on the same theme. So I won't say for sure who would win since this seems to be the case again. Someone plain looking but you never expect or see it coming. A flashy and arrogant monk using it to deflect the environment created by his inborn talent.

You can't necessarily trust what you see.
