The contrast between modern 'lightning slash' guy and past him is weird. Dude is fully off his rocker but acting like a perfectly rational and cool headed adult. Like at least let him be a little weird still. You dont just spend your teens cutting people up and going on week long fasts and come out chill in your 30s.

Melding into the weapon.

Jinsuke is a hell of a guy, his obsession clearly gave him strength to rival the divine... but it seems that after so many years the divine wants to prove him wrong.

I still prefer him to win, but he will need to be worthy of it.

His training is spending one hour on a strike.
I guess those thoughts got cleared every time he trains.

I do hope he goes beast mode with full human anatomy knowledge later.

Well he is 54 by the time of the series, makes sense he's mellowed out now that he is not actively pursuing revenge, still his training is kind of insane and is still going on about perfect God killing strikes so he's not exactly all there either

It seems the theme is those who are loved by the gods and those hated by the gods.

Let's see how it pays off.

I do think the kids gimmick being also celestial gates is a bit lame. I hope the gates don't become mandatory to be the strongest.

The gods were shown as real in round 4 and have been present in every round since.

They aren't leaving when they have become the common string of all fights in the Tenkaichi since

But if this manga used the gods as a random boost then everyone would need it to progress in the tournament.
Kojiro and Togo wouldn't have lost either.

I feel like my fav is gonna die because a) he's already avenged his dad and b) Choko's gonna need someone else to fight since they have massive Celestial Gate potential

From what I see, Celestial Awakening is a fundamental part of Tenkaichi's setting.

It's like the shikai/bankai of Bleach, the fighters will probably all unlock it at some point when they are pushed to their limits.

Try not to think of it as a specific type of power, but rather a state whereby the fighters become stronger and more than what they were.
