Once you come to terms with it, isolation and loneliness are nice. It took me the better part of a decade but I don't get depressed due to being alone anymore. Keeping busy, meditation and trying new things fills the void. Looking back I just yearned for company but when I had it I was just alone in the crowd even when with close friends. I'm my best friend and that can't be taken away.

I'm a happy hermit.

To be fair, she used Mental Shield without being aware it was even a spell. She thought it was something literally everybody could just do.
