You know... I do hope Erza gets stronger, I know it will never get at his, because obviously, but I think if this series really wants to create tension things will need to advance, and her being the one to carry it will be for the best, I like the way she fights... I do hope Kakyu gets put into a spot now and then too.

FWIW, the bad guy mentions here that her whole power level here was really just a bluff, her whole thing was to get him alone so she could poison + interrogate him. So her getting spell-reflected/etc in this fight probably doesn't mean much WRT her actual power level.

I assume future tension will come from Hero-Ars becoming more powerful though (as we already know he's gonna kill his dad at some point), so idk if the wife becoming strong enough to hold her own against the MC is really needed to create tension / progression.
