This is a Territory Development Manga. Having a Time Skip ignores the base concept for the story. You do that, and then you have to spend pages upon pages going over all the development plans they did over the years. All in backstory/flashback. At most you could do a jump of 6 months or so, but again, this jumps over so much of what the author wants to cover. They want to do plans upon plans. And then you cover the problems that come up as seasons change and unexpected things happen.
Unfortunately, that was his goal really is.

If I remember what other people have said about the original story, she was going to end up being a Big Boobed Bimbo minor otome villain, that was going to end up being jailed and causing a War (

@bobios2 comments in Chapter 6). Not sure if that's a Crime. But it's definitely a Bad Future(Ch3.1 pg14). So the Dad was essentially isolating her until she could be banished to a convent or married off to an insignificant noble(Ch 8 pg8 says this was his choice). So his emotional neglect was definitely shitty, but trying to stop a war, is a laudable goal.
