Like another comment already pointed out, it is supposed to have the "latin-ish" reading as it is written フィーネ in the raw, it's just that I committed to this tl and not a phonetic reading "Fene" (long 'i' to make an 'e' sound) just because the first one looked better to me. But it's too late now to change it

This was actually my considered first choice but it's hard with the font, since most english font don't have that, but I should look into that more

Nah, I'm good, I've no trouble reading it either way, I just didn't know which one it was. Luckily, not all languages are so screwed in their symbol-sound association that they need intentional misspelling to "un-abuse" a reader into rendering correct pronunciation after all. Thanks!
