He cant that is the very point. He needs to at least get decent grades in History and Theology. After that he would be allowed into the Library.

How would the Teacher know that his slimes confirmed it? And if you take away knowing with the slimes, his response sounds like he just guessed it. i.e: "I didn't think there was a monster stampede in the first place."

We're biased because we know about Yuuji. But, If another dude said that, it would've been blind luck that nothing happened. But if a monster stampede did happen, many more people would've died.

Your reasoning for why they should fail him is just banana.

How could you fail people for calmly assessing the situation before acting rashly? He didn't exactly announce to the others that it was a lie, not until being questioned anyway. And then he was only proposing a hypothesis based on present evidence, but still added that they should confirm it with the returning students. So it's a fail-able offense to speak your mind during a discussion now?

Mind you, all this is speaking from the others' POV. He could have told them there weren't any monster because he did search for em. But apparently he wanted to hide that, so here we are.
