Would it kill anyone to even try and emulate noble society in a believable way :aquadrink:

Now that mc is like a demigod, does he even need to sleep? Can he watch out for attacks through the night?

Seeing that this pig is having too many plot armors, i can guess that the evil god will turn him to a floor boss.

The tax rate set out by the King and his ministry, should be set so it's like ~15% of the income for each individual in the territory. A large decline in population should result in a similarly proportionally decrease in tax expected to be collected by the government. If 20% of the city leaves to Drintor, taking 30% of the wealth in the city with them, then the tax expected to be paid by the territory should be 20%, if not, 30% less.
My point being that tax shouldn't be the issue for the territory, plenty of other factors would be instead.
That's not how they did it in Middle Ages. That would require complicated accounting, and nobody can afford that.
In practice, it was more like "every rich household is to pay 10 gold, every middle household is to pay 1 gold, and every poor household is to pay 1 silver". With tax collectors deciding which houses were rich and which were poor at their own discretion.

And I guess in this kingdom, the same rule of thumb is applied to nobles - "this territory is marquis-class, so you should be paying 10 000 gold to the crown from it". And it's up to the noble to manage his territory wisely to be able to pay the taxes.
In historical middle ages, it was more like "you are a marquis, so you should be able to come with a force of 100 knights when the king calls you".
why is it so hard for some author to understand that most readers dont like stupid recurring mob villains
Please do not speak for all of us. I quite like villains that are recurring characters. Makes much more sense than MC finding new villains wherever he goes, and never running out.

Does he even need to watch out for attacks through the night?
Imagine MC waking up, seeing a lot of broken weapons around and a very tired assassin cursing loudly because he can't even put a scratch on the MC.

Damn we're gonna see the end of this arc by like December at this rate :dogkek:

The arc after this current one is actually shorter just because of how simple things go. And the one after that is where the WN kinda is at a slow place with chapter releases due to some hiatus/breaks but might be a major thing for Cain if I’m reading the hints for it correctly.

sure, let someone get away with human trafficking and just fine him cause he's a "noble" lmao
like is there any manga out there without these retarded plots? like does anyone really believe they could get away with just a fraction of the shit they're pulling here? either in the middle ages/renaissance (where this is supposed to be set i guess) or in the present?
He wasn't even fined. They don't have any dirt on him.

As the marquis says, at best, he would lose his title. At the worst, he will be executed. Besides human trafficking, his lackeys also threatened the imperial princess. So he isn't simply going to be fined.

They can't judge him with just an accusation, nor is a demonic power admissable as evidence. Any evidence there may be has been destroyed. From the looks of things, he will probably be caught red-handed for something else instead.

Anyone who is curious how this arc goes. Especially with the annoying “evil” noble that’s been harassing Cain. Here are lengthy major spoilers from the WN version.

Reminder this is WN version of events. The manga for some reason has opted to change how Cain acts in the manga in some scenes and even more changes in the anime to make it more friendly. This is a complaint I have about the manga and anime.

This whole arc is centered around how the school trip is supposed to be like a field trip study, meant to show how another country’s academy will conduct their lessons and stuff. As cliches go, an entitled brat tries to whoo Cain’s fiancées, however is rejected. Idiot entitled brat is son of one of the ministers, this idiot tries to get some bad type adventurers to hurt Cain. Cain obviously wins easily, gets helped out by some local adventurers to drag the trash back to the guild.

Cain’s identity as a high ranking noble, and his S rank adventurer status get revealed as idiot entitled brat’s minister father tried to sweep it under the rug. International politics ensue as it’s alluded that it could be taken as a declaration of war. So they hold a fairly straightforward trial where Cain and his kingdom get some monetary compensation, a formal apology, idiot entitled brat gets a delayed sentence for the mines when comes of age and minister father loses his job. There is also a side event where Cain saves a demon girl from being killed at the hands of another S rank adventurer. Much to the dismay of a certain butler, her true identity will spell problems for the very next arc.

However it is not over. Ex-Minister plots revenge, colludes with our idiot “evil” noble and they plan to attack the students on the return trip from both sides. The plot fails with Cain being absurd as usual, easily handling all the enemies on his own.. Cain’s elf fiancée also arrives after she heard about the plot against Cain’s group. The enemies that are captured also include a lackey noble of “evil” noble and the ex-minister.

Cain separates from the students so they can continue back to the kingdom for safety. In order to expedite transportation of all the criminals, Cain uses his teleport spell to make several trips back to their kingdom’s castle. He then reports to the king while his elf fiancée goes off to arrest the “evil” noble. His future fathers-in-laws get really pissed off finding out their daughters were about to get sold off as slaves if Cain wasn’t there. The two plan out their actions against the other country while wanting to arrest said “Evil” noble. “Evil” noble gets “apostle”d and basically destroys his own mansion while keeping everyone at bay until Cain arrives. While our so called bad guy claims he’s now an apostle, which actually causes people to freeze since their main religion thing is to obey apostles when they appear but Cain shoots back that “Evil” apostle is under the Evil God. Although “Evil” apostle thinks he has the upperhand, Cain decapitates him easily as Cain is much much stronger. Evil god talks to Cain which in turn Cain burns the head completely.

The day is saved, Cain returns to the students to escort them back home. Cain gets elevated to his dad’s rank and he is expected to take over now dead “evil” noble’s faction territories. Which is another plot to get Cain to use his vast assets to develop and enrich all that territory in the future to of course enrich the kingdom. Cain and his dad speak as both equals and as father and son about defending the kingdom together. Meanwhile part of the territory he gains also includes some from the other country. Other country basically has to pay restitution in yearly payments and territory in order to avoid war.
Thanks for the summary.

Mainly cause Corgino is even lower than third-rate in terms of villains. He was more a nuisance to Cain. I think the only time Corgino was smart about something, was the whole getting rid of evidence after the whole kidnapping incident. That's it. Besides the whole trying to flaunt his high rank against Cain during the early stages, Corgino never really did anything else against Cain. Sometimes I felt the author decided to use Corgino just to remind us "Corgino is a bad noble, he might be a problem later." But as the novel/manga went on, as I said earlier, he was more of nuisance.
Even at the end of this arc, when Corgino became an apostle for the Evil God. His first line of thought was just take over the Kingdom as the new King, because of the whole mindset around their religion is that they obey the apostles that appear. And finally try to kill Cain cause now he had newfound power and that whole mindset that apostle's words are absolute law.

First up mighty brave of them to eat with a guy that poisoned people in the past, untreatable levels poison.

Second up no surveillance on the guy still? Just how stupid and naive is this MC gonna be.
