The amount of people trashing the author because of the rainbow is maddening. It is pure ignorance. Apparently they are narrow minded and arrogant since they can’t accept that their ancestors used to believe in myths and legends about rainbow. Pffft... what a fool. They need to open their eyes and learn about history before mocking others! Rainbows even appear in the Bible as God’s promise of peace. And every culture has their own myths and legends about rainbows. The first one to describe them scientifically was Aristotle. Although research about the condition was recorded only in 1500s!!! And the first person who can analyze rainbow’s colour formation is Isaac Newton. Now tell me how people could think about refraction, reflection, and dispersion of lights before science developed the way it was!!! So shut the fck up you idiots!

I was fond of the idea of a protagonist actively avoiding prominence, but it's like he isn't trying anymore. He let all the cats are out of their respective bags except that he has memories of his past life.

If I was writing this story, the next thing to happen would be for the protag to desperately try to do damage control before escaping into the woods. Then when he decides the food sucks too much he comes back and tries to steer the religion that sprung up in his absence. He submits a simple moral message (eg. respect) and it gets misinterpreted and manipulated (eg. respect yourself vs. respect god vs. respect strangers.) Then he accepts kingship to make people get the message right and ends up an immortal god-emperor who wakes up once a decade to yell at the priests.

It's good I'm not a writer.

The bridge of the gods being a rainbow kind of sounds Norse, but now that I think about it they also have the big bad wolf that can destroy countries if it wants to so that sounds kind of like an off brand Fenrir I suppose. My Norse myth knowledge isn't terribly deep though so perhaps I've missed other things that might've stood out along the way.
