Al actually has arguments and reasonings for what he does and all Anis can muster is "Sparkle on, remember to be yourself!"
Im really getting brain damage from all the people that have zero literary skills and misconstrue everything Al says.
Al's ultimate motivation appears to be a desire to avoid becoming a puppet of the nobility and merchant class upon his ascension to the throne.

In order to avoid that fate he is seemingly content with murdering several people including his sister whom he once had a close friendship with and his former fiancee. Then upon gaining these vampiric abilities use them to brainwash anyone opposed to his plans without contemplating the potential blowback from these schemes if they had succeeded.

It is undrestandable that he wouldn't wish to become a puppet of the nobility. Yet instead of simply speaking with his sister (someone who most certainly would've supported him) or his fiancee (who also likely would've supported him) to achieve his dream without murder or mind control he resorted to these immoral methods of control.

Anis argument in this chapter is that her brother has been consumed by his own hatred and fears. She laments that she was so wrapped in her own studies and inventions that she didn't notice how badly her own brother was spiralling down a dark path.

All throughout the story we have seen that Anis has been ridiculed and insulted by those around her for her inability to use magic and for her technological innovations, however, she has always tried to keep a positive mindset and done her best to support the Kingdom. I guess she's saying that her brother could've adopted a similar attitude.

He is a compelling character but his motivations don't justify his crimes.
