@boag well, it depends on your personal preferences. For me, I have read alot of shitty otome isekai just as much as I have read shitty "normal" ones. But I have also read a few really great otome isekai just as I have read a few great "normal" ones. Of course, if you have a preferred genre, you will without any bad intentions see similar genres as lacking.
I really dislike (heavy) drama and can not see the enjoyment in that, but the millions of readers who like it prove to me that this is just my personal subjective dislike.
So no I do not admit it ;-)

If you take 10 random isekais and take 10 random otome isekais, youre more likely than not to end up with more garbage in the normal isekai basket than the otome one, this is an objective fact, that can proven.

@boag The great God RNG, amiright. If that is a proven fact for you, there is nothing I can say to let you see that it doesn't depend on the genre whether the quality is good or bad but on the author's ability. Just enjoy what you enjoy. Bye

Oof. What an awful game, I agree.

The dark and troubled pasts show character depth, but there doesn't seem to be any good follow-up or catharsis at all, so that's a big fail. I feel like the community would probably try to mod a game like this, since it's one of those "almost good" shitty games.

Oh yeah. And another Otome, sweet, I'm in and all that. I'll take the entire stock.

@Geurjakha:If you read my comment and decided I must like shounen isekai, I can't help you.
I like some shounen, but we talk isekai. Harem shounen sucks in most cases, because of the harem genre and I actually can't remember one harem shounen isekai, which's harem part didn't suck. When I want to ogle mangababes I read hentai and when I want romance I read ... something different, but not harem isekai. Sooo...

I take a manga about social and political maneuvers that focuses on the plot (avoid getting beheaded) always over, a manga that tries to keep the 12 introduced cookie-cutter-character girls appearing (over 60% to the content), but cuts its focus on the story down to under 30%.

Therefore, in the very most cases:
Shoujo Isekai > Shounen Isekai

And don't bash all shounen. Some are fun.

OMG I'm laughing at the "otome game filled with shitty capture targets" because this is a real, actual genre, lol! Like horror otomes or yandere otomes where every character is yandere, yangire, sadistic, etc. I'm dead from laughing.

And no, you mostly cannot romance side characters. :)

In case you're wondering why there are otome games with shitty chars, that's because part of the appeal of otome games is "fixing" broken chars. Like, making a potentially yandere character blissfully happy so that he becomes just possessive and not murderously possessive.

... It's so relatable (in terms of otome gaming, not irl)!

@boag enjoy the weird looks you get when you say that in public then, I guess

if your goal is to make people cringe you're doing well

@boag i'm literally telling you not to say it irl, or ever, and that somehow makes me an irl memer, gotcha

@Narehate
The fact that you actually think anyone would be enough of a sperg to say it in real life means you either witnessed it first hand or did it yourself.
