Just gonna play devil's advocate, but there's really only so much you can do with a protagonist that can't always see, it limits their autonomy, and I'm pretty sure that being blind doesn't have any sort of secret advantages, even if she did have the spatial awareness magic.
Also, and i know this is gonna sound stupid, would you go up to a real-life person who had just been cured of their blindness and start complaining that losing their blindness "hurts [their] narrative"? No, you fucking wouldn't, you goobers, you would celebrate their recovery from a purely detrimental ailment.
Drop this if you're unhappy about the way the story is going, but don't act like you know better than the author.

I guess my opinion is unpopular but I, for one, am very glad she's gotten normal sight. I wouldn't wish blindness upon a child. She could see power or whatever but it's awful to not be able to see.
This is why I can't be an author, I'd never let anyone good suffer.. :fml:

I think the pro-blindness camp are just venting there's no proof that they're the majority. There's not even proof that she's still not blind. She can "see", but she could always "see", it seems that her ability to "see" has just been powered up to the max so that it approximates normal vision, but it still appears to be magic eyes.

You would be surprised at what people cling to for identity. Here's an article about Cochlear implants, a "cure" for deafness, being seen as cultural genocide for deaf people. If blindness was cured some day, I would hope it wouldn't be seen in the same way but who can predict.

need to have a title change.

also, how the heck does she know the colour 'white' when she first went into that pure white space?
remember she was reincarnated with her past memories, just because she now blind five year old does not mean she would not remember things she know from her past life.

There was also that villainess isekai where the the female lead had dark skin

and then the gods made her white as a "blessing"
I mean you’re being a tad misleading on that one. For starters it was only a single goddess and it was the light goddess and the change was an unintentional one.

The reason why her skin turned white was because the dark skin caused by the blessing of the Dark god essentially got cancelled out by the blessing of the light goddess so she became the skin color she normally would have had. That’s the reason why it occurred.

Honestly I kinda wish, and I made the translator of the WN laugh cause of it, the second blessing would have resulted in her being zebra striped. She would have black and white skin at the same time.

I really don't understand why people had a problem with that one, the "gods" had nothing to do with it. The story clearly explained from the start that the people had their physical characteristics heavily influenced by the spirits that blessed them. She was the only person with dark features because she was the only one blessed by the dark spirit, so it's extremely reasonable that her features would change once she was blessed by spirit of light, one of the most influential and powerful spirits of that world.

Yeah, time has blurred my memories of the occasion a bit. It's still in the same mold of "lead struggles against adversity (successfully) for a volume or so and then Actual God just snaps their fingers and goes 'woop, fixed'". Like, not even gaining the support of others or anything, just an avatar of the author deciding they couldn't figure out what else to do with it. And the story isn't even over or anything.

"Do you mean to tell me you could've cured my blindness at any time?!"
"No! Not any time, only when it was funny."

Fuck, that's right, this is one of those series where the isekai part is totally unnecessary and doesn't contribute with the story at all, besides the "we need and excuse for the main target demographic to self-insert in the story"...
It actually did contribute a fair amount, because it's what gave her a much more mature personality than her age, and had her using otherworld knowledge to compare against what was being done. It was also part of the whole setup for why she was to be murdered.

She would have been cured earlier, but she was prevented from going to Church and receiving her Blessing.

I'm on the side of, 'she should have stayed blind' group. Only because its fiction and because that's the title. "I was reincarnated as a blind girl - I rely on my previous life's memories and magic to survive." < that's the title of the manga, It becomes a lie if she is no longer blind. And losses the unique spin that had this story really interesting.

That sounds like getting a dark blessing is "bad", and that light blessing is "stronger" so it overwrites the dark blessing.

That's a bad look, in multiple ways. Why does light blessing not change the skin color for everyone else, if it can reverse the effect from darkness?
