So far the situation seems like this:
Bishop wants fame to ascend on that religious herarchy,
Big Centipede is a menace for the slave merchant routes,
Beastmen Coutry wants the Bishop's city to abolish slavery,
Bishop doesn't want the Centipede killed because he kills the slave merchants while also having slaves used on his city,
Hero wants to kill the Adhof guy and will use the MC as the reason to cover the death of someone of Adhof strength since the Centipede is not a option,

Dunno if it's completelly right, just wanted to make this whole situation less convoluted since it is hard to read as it is.

The hero is a very interesting villain / antagonist. He understands how good people think, in an abstract intellectual way. But has zero personal emotional understanding of their motivations. He's like a color blind person understanding color, in terms of black and white. And then viewing being able to see those colors as weakness.

He's very cunning, cautious, and calculating. The hero only murders people when he thinks he can get away with it. He's someone very intelligent and powerful, completely devoid of empathy or remorse. A human that has become a monster, morality wise. While the plague dragon is a monster with the morality of a human. A story that's been told before. But, this version of it, is well told. And that makes all the difference in the world.
