There's a species of desert spider that cartwheels down sand dunes to escape from threats, but not as general movement:

But who knows, maybe inside his mouth the saliva is magical and imparts enough of a loss of friction that they don't actually end up spinning along with their container. But yeah, this is just anime logic, not a good idea irl. Guess you just gotta... roll with it.

That spider's reaction at the end of the roll looks like a college student who just took a bet of rolling down a hill, within a tire and a full belly of alcohol .

Always liked this series. I'm glad the MC hasn't made much progress in gaining a human form, when that happens in these monster isekai it quickly becomes generic.

Forget generic, when the MCs gain human form they start to form a harem like it's nothing and all the survival aspect (the charm of these stories) gets thrown out of the window. I mean, he already has met some "cute" girls, but none of them have "fallen in love" exactly.

lol I don't know at this point, he's been having equals amount of good and bad happen at the same time. For every single "Oh, what the fuck now!?" moment he's been making very meaningful friendships, discoveries and transformations.

Yeah, this is one of the few isekai that's actually good, because getting sent to another world isn't portrayed as a unilaterally good thing for the MC. It's not empty wish-fulfillment, there's some actual conflict, struggles, failures... so many isekai lack the real meat of a story.

well it is based off a light novel. novels like this usually have a lot of internal thinking from the MC, which is why he thinks so into detail in this manga

Ya but changing mediums for a story, should adapt it. Kinda how I love with Demon Slayer Red Light District arc they showed that sound pillar dude learning how to gauge the attack by sound instead of like the manga where it says it out in an expositionary way. That is a good adaption, adapting for the medium
