Pretty glad Fran is not OP enough to beat an A rank.
Leaves room for improvement.

@jasty just what I wanted to say.
Sword is beyond OP, Fran is strong because she got to train with this OP sword but she still lacks a lot of battle experience, even some of the weaker dudes may be weak but won't make the same mistakes as she could as they've been in the business for a longer time.

Glad to see room for improvement, even if she fought with Amanda, I'm pretty sure if Amanda really got serious she'd screw Fran in a few moves. She WANTED to let Fran hit her with her last skill to approve of her efforts, her unique skill activated because she let down her guard on purpose (but the skill is automatic) but I'm pretty sure she had a way to escape/block it as well (maybe not without damage but at least nothing critical).

It's good to see strong characters instead of OP-cheat characters !
She's strong by herself and share a fate with the sword which will make her stronger, just the kind I want ?

I agree with @PauloArthur, Amandas appearance feels really rushed and frankly, unwanted. I get that she is supposed to be a parent figure to Fran, but it felt to me like that spot was already being claimed by sword daddy so there was no need to bring her in.

I guess the main reason I don't like her is that she always acts like she knows everything, especially what's best for Fran. Sword daddy tries to guide Fran, but at the same time he had to learn to sometimes just follow Fran's lead instead. That's a dynamic you don't see very often, at this point it's not even clear anymore who the main character is. Compared to that, Amanda is really suffocating.

About Amanda
She just wants to look out for Fran because Fran's mom and dad were children Amanda raised in an orphanage and they left the orphanage because Amanda didn't support their dream to become adventurers and evolve. Amanda regrets not teaching them more so she really does want to help Fran however she can.

About Amanda (added)
She also acknowledged Fran as being strong enough to protect herself, and the only way she can help is by testing and showing Fran her limits

I personally think another parent figure to act as a brake for Fran is a nice addition to the story since:

1. Fran is already talented and adding sword dad makes her even more stronger than it should be
2. Sword dad won't be getting in Fran's way since he admits later that he's not only Fran's guardian, but also Fran's sword so whatever she decides he'll protect her to the best of his abilities
3. Neither of them are well versed in this world because sword dad is an isekai MC and Fran is just a child, and that can lead to an early grave

Cooldown 24 hours on a survival skill?: hmm, flag risen? They still plan to enter the dungeon and last time a B Rank monster was in there.

I don't really get why so many people got overly harsh with @azerez, poor guy was only commenting on the chapter and giving his opinion. And honestly, I'm quite on his side. Though this chapter made me like Amanda a little more, she seemed more like a tumor and a rapist than something else before. Because throwing yourself on a child you just met, restricting her, kissing her and trying to get her to forcefully kiss you while trying to replace her relative's for her own selfish desire, didn't make for a lovely character. If she were trying to get slowly closer to her because she likes children and Fran is cute, it wouldn't be so bad, but her forcefulness just make it a character that I instinctively dislike. Even the spear guy seemed more likable, because he as trying to bring justice, though he misunderstood.
With the chapter though, Amanda apparently stopped trying to force her way through and took some steps back, understanding her place, and making her more likable.

@Ghizghuth You and I are both too late to this party to make fair judgements on the initial conversation. The reply to azerez that sparked the rest of the responses, and some of those response, have been edited, and are now around 7 months old. Dredging it up again won't do anyone any good, none of those people even remember posting any of that by now.

Hmm, I dont think Clad is a bad guy. He had a rather virtuous (though with wrongly assumed) reason to be angry earlier and his reaction in page 13 shows that he's the type to come to respect Fran and likely wanting to improve himself rather than hold a grudge. He just seems to be a bit of a hot-blooded jerk, but dont think he's a bad jerk.

I just still can't get how Fran had to prove her worth here like this when the guild and multiple members saw her solo a dungeon and a B rank demon and come out relatively uninjured and yet rumor spreads she's just a faker?
