Honestly not happy about how he's okay being out in E class, just because he couldnt get in in his previous life. Author dropped a big fuckin L in my opimion. With that type of Beta attitude, Im really thinking of dropping this.

Yeah cause it's crazy since Mars was already placed in S class with the rest of them at the beginning in the novel. None of this E class stuff happened. So I don't know why the author is sabotaging this.

well, at least the manga said after the dungeon exploring segment, people will be assigned based on the result (which i guess this is only unnecessary padding before mc finally end-up in s class)

there's also dumb part (which kinda make sense in the WN but not in the manga) where one of the s class challenged mc for duel since he jealous with mc's harem, only for the reincarnated girl replace mc position to duel (not before she said mc is her sword teacher) and beat the s class in one hit, thus denying the mc chance to prove his strength, at least in the wn the duel between girl and those doofus still happened but only to decide the class strength hierarchy, which make the girl is the 2nd strongest with mc as the strongest

and in the latest manga raw, it looks like people already realize how ridiculously strong he is, like the student from s class need a full party to challenge the dungeon, while mc only need 2 people (mc and cyrus), even karen dumbfounded when she found out mc is actually a strong swordman and the teacher keep praising him (the elf mom + cyrus)

well, at least there's your typical random incident in the dungeon which i guess give mc the spotlight
and the manga karen is not as pathetic as the wn version... for now

at least the good part of this development is
it will give a good incentive for mc after cyrus got killed since mc mingling more with him in the manga compared to the wn

So they finally explain why he failed, and it's just the old "he's too powerful, so he can't be appraised" trope. But he's still at the bottom of the class, even though he almost beat Cylus, and they can't raise him to S-class because reasons.

I guess it's all just padding so he can prove how strong he is in the dungeon exploration. Because the pacing has been so reasonable until now, and they didn't want to rush it  (yes, that's sarcasm.)

To be honest, the plot is a bit too simplistic. And this thing I'm hearing about this whole "Class-E' thing not being a thing in the WN/LN screams "Ham Handed Writing" in bold, glowing neon letters.

It doesn't make sense from several angles. For one thing, if only people who are OP-as-fuck are un-appraisable, then it would make a lot more sense if they set him aside for a specialized evaluation that doesn't rely on appraisal the moment they saw he had unusually low scores.

Also, why the hell would they be relying on appraisal as the primary means of evaluation? I get that it's quicker, but this is a prime example of why it's not a good idea. Also, who's to say that the person doing the appraisal doesn't have some kind of bias? Written and practical examinations require a much more deeply institutionalized bias in order to be subverted, if for no other reason than there's gonna be more than a just a few sets of eyes at work.

Also, if the mangaka really wanted this development, then they should have thrown some additional complications in there as some B-Plot to go with the A-Plot. Like maybe have his girls misunderstand why he got put into Class-E. Something to the tune of, "Did you throw the exam!? I know that you don't want to stand out too much, but why would you do that!? Are we not that important to you?" I know, it's not logical, but we're dealing with teenagers here. Logic isn't always a teenager's strong suite.

And no, being a reincarnator should not grant some kind of "wisdom beyond their years" BS. Hormones are a thing, and they play merry hell with a person's ability to reason. Our brains are CHEMICAL computers, so variations in hormones and neurochemicals will have an effect. (I found the moment where Ellie flew off the handle at Lady Karen to be more believable than everything else I've seen in this story arc thus far.)

Of course, we can't let that plot point sit for too long. Just have the girls along when he gets that explanation from the Headmistress, and that will clear things up right away.

Also, kinda surprised Mars hasn't even said a word to his brother since he got there. They're on great terms with each other, so why not? There's no way they're both so busy that they can't sit down to a meal together and catch up on everything they've been missing out on.

Yep. Like I said, ham handed writing. Removing much more relevant and sensible plot points while shoe-horning shit that hardly makes any sense at all.

It's not even that, dude was indeed wearing an item that blocked appraisal, lied about it, gave fake stats that matched other s-class that were properly appraised (thus meaning his inability to be appraised is abnormal for his stat level) and had the gall to act like being in that situation had nothing to do with him despite the contrary and accept the E-class placement.

The entire "explanation" is frustratingly stupid and was added unnecessarily to an already half-assed adaptation.
