Good thing she's not a touhou or losing that hat would have killed her.

Lamrys is supposed to be Ramiris right?
I appreciate this scanlator for pumping out so much slime content, but why is their translation of names so wonky compared to all the other translations?
Or is this actually right and everywhere else is wrong?

@Raydnt: yes they are the same. Ramiris came from how the scanlators/web novel translators romanized her name, using the usual romanization.

The light novel that came after had an official romanization which is Lamrys which is now used by the groups.

Same happened for other names too, like Flamia/Flamaire, for example.

@Raydnt for whatever reason plenty of people seem to insist on replacing 'R's with 'L's when translating names from katakana, which annoys me to no end. Anyway her name in english is more widely known as "Ramiris" from fan translations, but the official yenpress release uses "Lamrys" (along with a whole bunch of other idiotic translations"

That's not correct. Yen Press (official English LN publisher) and Kodansha USA (official English manga publisher) both use "Ramiris". The one who uses "Lamrys" is Fuse (author of Slime) himself and/or his Japanese publisher GC Novels/Micromagazine. You see it in the Databook+Short-stories Extra Light Novel Volume 8.5, where they gave a romanized form for the names.

@GreyZone really? I may have remembered it wrong then. I have the JP books 1-12 and digital versions of the official eng translation for vol 1-4. I should recheck it... but i've long since edited my english versions of the yenpress translations as i didn't like their translation.

Anyway I definitely prefer "Ramiris" to "Lamrys". but then again I prefer the japanese version to the english version.
