some new translation group has picked it up, i get that, but when are they going to upload the chapters? they are very behind if they are still going to do it
It won’t be uploaded here. Its not a new translation group thats translating this now. Its an official translation from the publisher where you need to pay for the chapters on K-manga, (which i think is an app? i’m not sure).

the k-manga app is so terrible that the new chapter 106 that got released here is split in halve and for each of those two you have to pay like 3$ based on the coins you can get with money.... to the contrast a whole volume of the manga in a bookstore cost like 7$ or so and contains 4-6 chapters. my advise and the conclusion from this just uninstall the k manga app and wait for people to pick this up bcz that company is more of a money grabber then webnovel will ever be or was...
Or just buy the manga to support the mangaka so they can continue making the series

I have bought 20 volumes now. Since I'm living in country with ONE distributor that doesen't carry this series I have to pay around $30 per volume to get it imported trough some obscure bookstore and it takes 2-3 weeks to get it. Not all of them are even obtainable and for example I had to hunt down Vol. 1 for over a year before i was able to get it. Even then I bought it to support them and now they are purposefully banning me from reading it? I think I have a reason to be outraged. And NO, its not some law thats giving them problems, since all other manga apps work here fine. And since we dont get anything here, I am sure that they wont release K-manga here for a looooong time. So yeah. FUCK. THEM.

I’ve already explained what they said about other countries and yes they do need to meet those country’s standards and laws before they can allow access to them.

The app has been up for a month or two and yet you’re comparing them to other apps that have been around for longer than that? Kodansha would have zero reason to not expand to other countries as then. It expanding means they lose out on possible money. It would make zero sense for them not to expand.

How are they banning you from reading the volumes you already own? Btw have you tried buying through eBay?

Ok, I might have been a bit too angry while I wrote that, but my point is still the same. There is very little demand for manga whare I live and a lot of people don't even know what it is, so coming to this market is probably not very important to them.

I don't mean that they are banning me from reading the volumes I already own, but they are prohibiting me from reading the newest chapters. I would even pay the price they are charging for it, but I can't and now I can't read it even here. :(
As a big fan I'll still buy more, but this seems a bit disrespectful to me, especialy since they are basically saying: "Oh, are you not from Japan or US? Well thats too bad, nothing for you."

I bought few things from eBay, but the shipping price and delivery time are ridiculous, so I don't bother. But I really want Vol. 1 in original Japanese just to put on my shelf, so I'll probably source it from eBay. Amazon also doesen't ship here, which is ridiculous btw since they have huge warehouses here. Tbf that obscure bookstore I mentioned is actually VERY good, while not being very well known. They can source about every book you can think of. The local manga publisher only does titles that they translate, so they are extremely behind on the titles that they carry, but they are really cheap, so I buy some series from them too.

But I agree with you, that the official translation is very good. Actually all the series I have have very good official translations, so I don't know what the problem is...

Hmm well the only suggest I can make is to look into VPNs or ebooks. The vpn would allow you to gain access to the app and an ebook could allow you to buy the digital version off of stuff like Amazon. You can probably find a vpn for cheap and sometimes people on YouTube will post their sponsorships that will give you a good percentage off the cost of a vpn

Yeah, I also recall reading the news of BMW experimenting with a business model where you need to pay a subscription fee to unlock features already built in your car, such as heated seats. So, I could very well see someone pirating a software update and thus "stealing" from BMW. It's a crazy world.
