I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote what they liked, versus some serious passionate amateur author having a "How to set up basic world building, write realistic charas, etc" (tho it would be amusing if books like that had some obvious cliches/general advice that didn't help that much more unless you're like a middle schooler, but you still pay like 40 bucks for it)

Either way, good luck coming up with a proper magic systems. Even Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter just use Soft Magic systems. The only real Hard Magic system.... is, guess what ?? It's what videogames use.
