Doesnt necessarily mean they’re different people. Maria could easily be a nickname.

I think there's going to turn out to be a baby switcheroo or something. Millie's egg donor in the first chapter was mentioned to have postpartum depression, so maybe her real child was stillborn/died and she took this "Marianne" (possibly a sister?)'s child, but then her husband thought it was an affair baby, leading to her actions in the first chapter.

Either that or the egg donor really is Marianne, and postpartum depression got her really fucked up, and she regretted her actions once she recovered and confessed to the priest what happened and then died.

Truthfully i don't really blame her either.

I mean, a Woman getting accused of Cheating was considered a big shame socially (especially in the olden days, when there was no way to prove paternity). Not to forget, the constant argument with her husband for nearly five months.

Anyone would eventually breakdown in such a situation as she is also a normal human being (just because she became a mother doesn't mean she is supposed to be something special).

Yeah, she tried to kill the FMC, but do you really think she was in a right mindset, especially considering she just fainted after that whole situation.

Sorta? She was probably bald. At 5 months she finally had some peach fuzz growing in (Ch1 pg27). Since they're all higher social status, they should know how blonde hair looks on babies.

The name the translator used for chapter 1, was Maria, I can see that being Marianne. With Maria being a nickname. But assuming that's the case. The High Priest says he last saw Marianne about 5 years ago. In Chapter 6, they announce the new baby during Millie's 5th "birthday" party, so she is probably 6-7 years old during this chapter(depends on how that 5 months the story started as works out). This makes it less likely to me, that she's his daughter, if only because of the social circles they would circulate in. He was a candidate to be a chancellor, that's high enough status, that his Marianne wouldn't randomly marry some other rich guy, while carrying on a relationship with him.
