Still me personally I love the family dynamic more and that's also what makes it kinda gross (not the age gap). Like girl, your grandpa straight up told everyone that he sees this guy as his FATHER and you know he's in love with your great grandma, DO NOT SHOOT YOUR SHOT with him. The age gap really is whatever with him being immortal (like super immortal) and already that much older. The fact that he has such a strong connection to the family makes romantic relations odd and teethers on grooming. It kinda reminds me of that one family in "to you the immortal" which was obsessed with the title character and had each female head try to wed him. But even then the MC didn't have a familial relationship with them and they were doing that specifically because he never liked any of them.

Maybe it's because the Elf would still be twenty for the next five hundred years, and for a High Elf like Aesir, he'd still seem to be twenty for the next thousand years. He'd probably lose some of that childishness after 1500 years and start acting more like an adult 23-24 year old, but there'd be so many generations of dead human's pining for him by that point, it wouldn't even matter.

That shit pissed me off so much. It was kind of a relief when it went to total shit after the time skip and I felt comfortable dropping it altogether lol.

Honestly, looking back on it, the MC's idiotic limp dick approach to that whole issue was a sign of bad things to come.

Personally i don't think it even needs to be a lover, but i geniuely believe there is need for some sort of "permanent" companion or acquaintance. The problem this story is facing from my side is that most of the characters became effectively worthless because they are not allowed to exist beyon teaching the MC something new and thus they become less of a characters in story and more of a tool.

This arc is the perfect example of this. Why the hell should we care about any of these characters when the chances are next time Aesir will come back they will be just extra grave for the background. Aesir needs someone to bounce off from, but it feels empty when the people he bounces off pretty much exist as one time thing.

He’s been described as absolutely gorgeous in a couple chapters. Imagine an ethereal, almost otherworldly looking being, very beautiful, attractive, super strong, and incredibly kind, being in close proximity to you for years. It would be very difficult to not catch feelings. So it’s actually understandable how many people have fallen for him. It probably will get exhausting for sure if it keeps happening and the source material did continue this trend.

I think the answer the mangaka tried to provide for that “consistent companion” is the elf girl with twintails, but she’s actually barely in the story so it’s far less impactful or successful than it should be. The mangaka also consistently reminds us that she kind of reveres him like a god whenever she calls his name with the title.

I do hope he gets a long-term companion sometime, which will definitely add a good dynamic to the story. The question is how long will that last as well. I’ve seen stories where immortal companions kind of slowly devolves into apathy due to the longevity of it all. I honestly wouldn’t mind a spoiler from a ln reader about his future encounters. I really do love this story.
