Elves are going missing around the world huh?

Why do I get the hunch they are prepping for an introduction to a "elf killer" villain.
They're not going missing. High Elves turn into spirits after 1000 years, the same kind that Aesir calls upon for help and magic.

Think about it, High Elves rarely leave the deep forest, Aesir is the only one in living memory, non-spirit memory to have done so.

Kinda make me wonder about the high elf lifespan, I mean Aesir is considered in his 19 in human year right? And the last Elder Elf we see not look that old either

As Vandalbear said they live 1000 years and then turn into immortal spirits. From this chapter I think we can safely assume the Immortal Spirit version of The High Elves doesn't stick around and retain status or influence in High Elven society.

What I think he meant is that they transmigrated from elves into spirits, and then wandered off out into the world. Whether they intended to search for him or not is unknown but none of them ever came across him or if they did he didn't recognize them.
He explained in the manga that elves don't really "die". Instead they turn into spirits when they "die".

It's fascinating how similar but different this series is to Frieren. Aesir feels like he's staying more true to his Elven nature and taking his damn sweet time with everything and accepting that he'll outlive everyone and wants to simply remember them. Honestly learning how to sculpt is actually a great idea.

However Frieren had a moment of regret during Himmel's funeral that makes her want to now live in the moment with humans like Fern and Stark. It's wild to think that the Hero Party journeyed to take down the Demon King in the same amount of time Aesir decided to apprentice Blacksmithing, lol

Aesir already reached acceptance while Frieren might still be bargaining.

We readers also kinda accept ...(begrudgely) that this will probably be the last we saw of any of the old cast in mainland except Irena and Wynn.

I'm simply waiting for the very final moment. How beautiful yet heartbreaking it would be for us.

The main difference is that Aesir is a reincarnated human, so he already understands how short life can be, whereas Frieren is a born elf, and didn't really make that connection until Himmel died.

I know very well the author got a chart of events and people surrounding it so it'll be so much better for them to insert it in the manga cuz not everyone remember who is who and the events in chronological order :fml:
The chart in question only appears in the final volume of the Light Novel, as far as i remember.

I think maybe it would be best to suggest the Fan-translator to include a character chart (at the end of each chapter) with a small bio for characters that had appeared in Manga so far, to keep track of them.

Creating it would be a bit of a hassle for the first time, but once created it should be easy to manage.

The Manga has basically covered nearly 50-60% of the plot by now, so something like that would be helpful to keep track, as while the characters themselves have either died or would be dead in the future (except MC), their mention would keep cropping up until the end of the series.

Aesir really needs to start his own bloodline so we can follow them throughout time, but maybe high elves are too op to breed.
I think it's less about "High Elves being to OP to breed", and more about Japanese MC with their typical mentality of not focusing on family building or even romance, especially in Isekai series.

Considering most of the time, those Isekai'ed people lived a lonely life prior. But even after coming to a new world they don't really bother with creating a family for their own bloodline, and are just happy either interacting with some random people who are nice to them and being over the moon about it, or having some cute pet or adopted child to look after, or some girl(s) fawning over them without any actual romantic inclination from the MC.

Instead they focus on a free-life and journeying around, which technically they could have done in their previous life as well, but because of social obligations (not money) they were apparently forced to do office jobs and live an empty life (since apparently based on fictional Japanese norms, if you are an adult, you have to work and contribute to the society; you can't go around enjoying your life or travelling around).

Majority of the time, the ecchi part in those story are just forced so that MC does get some opposite gender interactions, but if you remove those parts you would notice that there is no emotional interaction at all, nor a plan to build a blood family.

You can actually notice that nearly 80% of the Shounen/Seinen series in general don't focus on family building (or even romance for that matter) even if they are Harem. There isn't even actual physical interaction in majority of them either. Family is treated most of the time as "Post Goal" or "Bonus Content", which doesn't need focus and majority of time becomes a plot of epilogue.

Very few series (like Mushoku Tensei, Ideal Sponger Life, Realist Hero, etc) focus properly on family aspect (aka., having sex and raising their own children) in either their main or sequel series (not something like Naruto -> Boruto, were the Manga didn't have any romantic focus and suddenly has a wife and children in the sequel; atleast the Anime adaptation and it's movie fixed that aspect for that series).

I'm impressed by the way the author is able to bring up older events and remind me of what happened without ruining the flow of the story
I agree, both the writer and the manga artist are truly bringing this great story to life! I also read the light novels in digital version, and it only gets better and better as time goes on. I hope that they get Trigger or another big company to animate this like they did with dungeon meshi, as this series captures the feeling of being a long lived elven race perfectly, without the melodrama that frieren has (mind you, I love that series too, and it makes sense for an elven variant which lives literally immortal lives to be more distant and "bored" like Frieren is, but this stories take on elves is more realistic and doesn't shy away from both the best and worst of humanity). I know that that is wishful thinking, but this is one of those series that I feel deserves a good animation studio to bring to life.
