This Lil boy was literally hand on hilt threatening a stranger with violence cause he was, "hanging around his dad?" Tf

Thanks for the tl
He's been showing up for months (an eternity to children), doesn't seem to work for or with your father in any capacity from what you can tell, and hasn't been introduced as some relative you've never heard of. Something is definitely going on, especially since he hangs out with the dad at the time every four days when nobody is allowed to bother him.

Currently, the Manga is at mid-point of LN Vol.5, and the series ends at LN Vol.8.

If anyone interested, this is what MC does after learning the skill from the oldman (illustration from the final volume).
NGL, that made me tear up.
This story is so good at just tugging your heartstrings

After becoming a sword master, now he’s learning to be a master sculptor too. Aesir really out here trying to master everything :meguu: Even the two them were shocked seeing how easily Aesir could cut through the stone, and the cuts were super clean too.

It's rare to see benevolent lords in fiction, but it's even rarer to see one so dedicated to the arts and crafts who has time for it. That's very humanizing, in my opinion.
I don't see why it would be. IRL it was almost exclusively the aristocracy that were artists, poets and all sorts of other "creative" types. Mainly because only they had the spare time on their hands and did not need to work all day to maintain their lifestyles. Also, they were the ones with the education to facilitate this.

God, what a good chapter. It's going to hurt so much when he makes the first statues of people who have passed on though

It is heartwrenching, but the idea of preserving the memories of his shortlived friends in stone is great. The problem is that it would require him to set up a base somewhere to store those sculptures. If the sculptures were left behind and then stolen or destroyed by humans, that would defeat the purpose. I don't think we have seen him use any convenient space magic either, which would have allowed him to carry the sculptures along on his journey. But considering the fragility of the outside world, the high elf forest seems like the only safe place to store them for centuries.

i think he left the statue in his personal island that were acknoweldge by serveral nation and have small population that worship him.
IIRC: it a small elven trading colony the elf girl set up so they can help assist elf in other continent.
so all in all, thouse sculpture is left in good hand.

pretty sure his grand daughter(child of his adopt son) walk path of chinese immortal so she going to live long enough to care for his stuff i assume. i read webnovel version and it didn't tell much what she do during Aesir final day not sure if it diffrent in LN

I think the concept of it isn't perfectly phrased. His elvish memory preserves his friends fine. Rather, sculpting is a way to share that memory with others, so that acknowledgement of his friends' existence keeps him company. It's essentially Himmel and his statues, if Frieren were the maker as well as its intended audience. Leaving them everywhere is precisely the point.

Very nice to hear that theres a clear end. Would hate to have this great series fizzle out into nothing.
