Yeah, based on the description, I was expecting him to be more of a monster and less of a Splatoon character. And he can't even do that transformation shit on cue.

I guess it kinda makes sense if you think about him being the one whose eyes we are seeing all the tentacle porn through. If he was stronger, he would just immediately take out enemies and we wouldn't get to see as many people get tentacled. Unless he was incapacitated before evey fight, which would get really old very quickly.
