I am continually amazed at the depiction of the Japanese, BY the Japanese, as having the constitution of a 6 month premature crack baby. How ungodly weak do you have to be to get DELIRIOUSLY SICK from sleeping under an air conditioner? Or the other common trope of getting wet giving them the equivalent of the bubonic plague, putting their life on the razor edge between surviving and being lost forever.

@Kierlak don't forget about the "romcom flu" where you're instantly hit with 39C and the only cure is a visit from potential love interest. These are just lame plot devices though.

As for NTR, we need it to counterbalance all the fluffy seinen romance bullshit. NTR is how all these relationships would really end up; NTR is Justice.

@Kierlak Keep in mind that these are the same people that also lost WWII because they would charge machine gun nests with swords once they ran out of ammo instead of falling back, regrouping, and resupplying because they believed that their warrior's spirit would carry them to victory. It seems that the Japanese self-concept is inherently flawed... oh, and babies... they won't make them...

@Ring 'Cause it is. Things that are popular are still going to be popular whether you like them or not and whether you even understand why others like them or not. I don't like beer, so I don't drink it. Everyone else is still welcome to, I just stay out of the way and do my own thing instead. NTR, real or fictional, is the same. People can go do or read whatever they want, it's no skin off my nose. Then again I'm single as shit and probably will remain so, nobody's gonna cheat on me even if they want to so what do I know.
