I can't figure out how to post screenshots on this, but the second panel on page 21 of the first chapter has Hakari and Karane introducing themselves, and they mention them being in the same class, neither of whom were surprised at that. other than that there's no conclusive evidence one way or another, as they don't explicitly state whether they do or don't know, but in my opinion it looks like they at least knew each other.

even if they didn't know each other, as you said, they never fell in love upon meeting each other for the first time. however, the first zing was a three-way zing between Hakari, Rentarou, and Karane, who's to say all three didn't zing, and not just Hakari/Rentarou and Akane/Rentarou. there's no real evidence for that, so I just prefer to believe it, but even if that isn't the case and they aren't soulmates, they've clearly got something going on, and one of them is a major tsundere so it's not like they'd immediately confess to one another. and before you say "but Karane confessed to Rentarou, then why not to Hakari?" she only did it because Hakari did first and didn't want him stolen by her, if she was the solo heroine we'd have a whole 5+ arc manga before they even kiss

I mean yeah, but also Dreamtarou says that he dressed up like that cuz of her love for Shizuka, and since it's actually her subconscious taking the form of Dreamtarou. I do see the mother/daughter thing, but Nano also almost confessed during the floating island arc when they thought they were gonna die. all that just to pivot to a mother/daughter vibe would be strange, not to mention having that kinda relationship with someone your in a polyamorous relationship with is kinda weird, especially especially since her moms alive and they're on good terms now

adding “certainties” doesn’t make the ship real. What you’re doing is simply head cannoning them as gay tsunderes when judging by the way the author is taking the story he has no intention of that at all.

You’re entitled to your own head cannons but please don’t spout it as cannon.

I mean, it'd be weird that that many Yuri ships would be in Sukisugi, but nowhere near impossible. also at the very least Hakari and Karane seemed to be friends before meeting Rentarou. also as you said Hahari had a lover before Rentarou, so the authors are obviously playing fast and loose with the "set in stone" rules of Soulmates, which is fine since it's a comedy manga. obviously there's no way to really know without author confirmation, it's more like a fun headcanon for me.

The point of the soul mate thing is they are set as your partner for life upon meeting them. It also makes you instantly fall in love with them as well.

that's the great thing, they totally could if they wanted to. there's no way Rentarou could say no if one of the girls wanted to date another guy (though in all reality he wouldn't get in the way, he'd just say "yeah fair enough, not like I've got room to talk."). but it's probably not gonna happen, because in the end this is a harem-spoof, there's gonna be one guy and a bunch of girls in all likelihood. plus the inter-gf relationships help flesh out their characters more. also the way I see it is the girls that have their side ships are who their soulmates would be if God did his job instead of giving Rentarou 100 on accident

They can’t cheat though? The soulmate thing causes all of them to be in love with Rentarou solely. And the rules are they die if they don’t stay with Rentarou
