Thats too bad, its a real classic.
Maybe I'll check it out then, but if I don't like it I am going to airdrop some pitbulls named cupcake on your neighborhood.

I fail to understand where the "author is running out of ideas" comments are stemming from.

Tell me where on earth you've EVER seen a literal number autist who's in love with numbers themselves, completely cold towards everything else. Someone so absurdly obsessed that she'd be moved to tears if you helped her pretend to be numbers.
That's not quirky to you? That's not a bizarrely unique concept worth an eyebrow raise?

You do realize that MOST of the harem are presented in a similar vein, right?
Momoha is introduced as a typical drunk lecher, but gets revealed as an ethics teacher of all things.
Rin gets introduced as a musical upper class lady, but gets revealed as a craver of violence.
Mimimi gets introduced as a typical superficial narcissist, but is revealed to have more of a heart than you'd think.

Most of the girls are typical tropes with a slight curveball on them.
This girl is no different.
Being nerdy for numbers is the trope-y part.
Being obsessively in love with the numbers themselves is the quirk/curveball.

Mai is just a tsundere sis-con with a caviat that Mei isn't actually her sister.
She gets a pass but the numberphile doesn't?

What about the hat trick of relatives?
Hakari's mother, Rentarou's cousin, Kusuri's granny?
That didn't make you exclaim and protest (for creativity reasons)?

You get it by now. :pout:

1 + 1 = 3 was a thing many years ago, so if Suu was really adamant on forcing mathematics to change, she could probably find company in that.

I'd be more on board if she weren't so fucking mean. At least Mimimi shaped up pretty much instantly.
Don't worry though guys, I can fix her.

I like how she uses the generic pronoun "one" instead of "you," ("Should one go to the store..." instead of "Should you go to the store...") but I'm also kind of interested to know if this is based on something in the original Japanese.

is just me or look like he is running out of ideias, the last girl was well made by been s but a girl in love with numbers? wouldnt be easy if was just a androgenous girl like najimi from komi cant comunicate, a otuku girl or a girl with a dream to be a ídol but dont have the talent
I mean she is odd but in love with numbers is still million times better than with animals or children

i don't think so...i think the author wanted to make a pun of number 123, so he introduced a character who's in love with numbers and whose name literally translates to 123 (hi=1, fu=2, mi=3; hifumi=123)

Alright, I'm on my second read-through of this manga and I need to rant about Suu.
There is absolutely no reason for Suu to not like Math. None.
The reason she gave was... absurd. Number don't "go" anywhere when doing calculations. Numbers and counting are a human invention.
If I have a donut, and I find another entirely separate donut, both of which I have assigned the number 1 to, (because they themselvss are 1 object by themselves), 1 donut plus 1 donut doesn't magically combine to make the mythical '2-nut' or whatever. You still have entirely separate donuts, it's just that there are 2 of them.
If you have read this and you thought "Uh, yeah? Duh?", do you see my fucking point here? Suu KNOWS math. She can literally fucking count, which can be written as the function 'n + 1', so she instinctively knows algebra, just like everyone else on the planet who got a 1st grade education. Suu KNOWS what 1 + 1 is. Just the fact that she can count goes against her supposed autism.

You'd think that being someone that attributes human traits to each numbers and loves them as if they were people, she would appreciate the fact that all numbers almost ALWAYS have a unique property that no other number has, at least, in terms of equations and calculations you can do with them. The youtube channel Numberphile goes into stuff like this with specific numbers and it's cool so see the weird shit mathematicians have found.

Nakamura has the number autism, by the way. This chapter, Momoha's chapter, Chapter 100, giving all the girls birthdays, etc. He has a volume extras blurb talking about numbers like Suu does. I have a theory that when drafting up concept designs for Hyakkano, Suu was among the first to be fleshed out, but he thought it'd be funny to introduce her as the 23rd Girlfriend on Chapter 123. This was all calculated.
Nakamura can do math, WHY CAN'T SUU?
