She’s a good mindset to have, despite the pain and suffering life and the world may have, it’s important to never let it get to you. To wake up everyday finding new ways to improve yourself, or improve the world around you. She’s uniquely positioned to help others with her writings, I wonder if she writes more than just picture books.

Her and Shizuka will get along swimmingly, both book lovers and have been bullied in the past… man I feel so bad for Shizuka just remembering what her life was like before Rentarou.

If anyone alive has the capacity to bring about true happiness in someone, it’s Rentarou, she’s in good hands. In hindsight it’s kind of strange how they all left the roof and nobody noticed her except him, did she walk past them or what?

They all loved her book, so they’ll probably be thrilled to meet her, before finding themselves having many questions. It’s nice to know she wasn’t planning to jump, considering it’s happened before, Hakari! It wasn’t until the anime that I realized just how high of a jump she planned back then.

If I can be honest with y'all? This girl's intro could have done with another chapter. For a gloomy pessimist, she really seemed rearin' to give love, what she percieves as something that only exists in fairy tales, a chance. This is something Rentarou has not had to directly deal with before (The last closest was Tama, who actually was considering suicide), and I think if it were given more time to develop, a 2-part chapter would have been a great chance to grow both as characters.
I dunno. This is the only girl introduction that I felt wholly unsatisfied with, since there isn't really any "What the fuck is happening?" energy like we got with Chiyo and Yuga.
Anyway, let's see if she grows on me.

It's a sobering reminder that, before meeting the God of Love directly, Rentarou was suffering depression. Sure, he pushed on, but the emotional torment of suffering 100 rejections for someone as love focused as he is really did push him to his limits.

The man knows no limits in his pursuit of pleasing his girlfriends, but its only from knowing the pain of heartbreak for so long that he truly can derive the strength to protect what he now has.

According to manga, if you stand out by helping others, you get bullied/taken advantage of. If you keep to yourself, you get bullied. If you're average, you get bullied. Apparently, there's no winning.

It's not just manga, that's just Japanese society in a nut shell. There's even a Japanese proverb for it: "出る杭は打たれる (The nail that sticks out gets hammered down)". Japan is a heavily collectivist society, and doesn't appreciate those that try to stand out of their place in society. It's part of the reason domestic abuse and bullying goes unchecked for so long, the idea that bringing it up or getting help means you are bringing unwanted attention and therefore inconveniencing everyone around you. Same reason for why the "Ijime" style of bullying exists and has the teachers take part: "the bullying victim must be in the wrong for drawing attention to themselves and therefore must be put down".
