I'm confused why the court lady is answering to the consort candidate when she is suppose to be the one in charge of the consorts on behalf of the King. Did soemthng get left out from the novel or is there just something I'm forgetting? It seems like she would be protected from any retaliation to prevent anything like what is going on from happening. Other wise it is a really stupid oversight by the ones in charge.

@Heimdal My guess is the court lady is seeking to ingrain herself to the Lady with the highest power. Who ever she thinks as worthy of being Queen, because being a direct subordinate of the Queen will advance her career. She just wants to ride on the coattails to higher power. Now that the Dukes daughter has gained the ill favor of the King, the court lady is thinking of jumping loyalty again, this time to a consort candidate with a higher birth than a Duke's daughter. Hense her creepy smile. The woman is two faced and just bows down to anyone with higher power in order to further her own gains.
She kisses ass of those in higher power while looking down on everyone lower than her. Typical cannon fodder villain.

I've said earlier that it would've been a great story if romance was a sub-plot, the dorkish interactions with King M. kinda of breaks the dynamic/flow the story is having. I love how the MC handles her relationships but its a love-hate-relationship. It's immature as is this story is immaculate

the 2nd Consort since she's a foreign princess and thus higher than a duke's daughter not knowing that she fully supports the MC and has no interest in being Queen so she essentially doomed her fate if she suggest anymore of her underhanded strategy.
