I think Mao Mao has already guessed Jinshi's real identity ever since the arc about consort A Duo, and recently the emperor's building arc. She just neither has interest nor wants to pry into it as it's too dangerous for her.
This is something I can't wrap my head around with past nobles; they're paranoid with their life enough to hire scapegoats for testing their food along with other measures in preventing foul play. Yet they still gone with activity that's way outside of their safe zones like hunting (to say nothing of how dangerous hunting itself was/is, even without cloak and dagger shenanigans)
Well the answer is easy: politics. Turning down someone powerful's invitation for a hunting party risks alienating and upsetting them, which can have negative political effects. Plus, if you turn down invitations like that all the time, it tells everyone you're paranoid and you don't trust them.
