Her Father is a strategist and her Mother(well, she is one of Brothel but not just sell her body also sell her skill/art) is also smart

Maybe Maomao is also genius like both of her parents

Also, Mao Mao was raised by a man who was very well-educated and well-traveled, such that her genius biological father even considered him to be brilliant. We haven't seen too much of him (which is why I can't recall his name), but it seems he was an excellent teacher in addition to being an excellent father.

Not only Very well educated but as well as a Very Good Teacher, He test Maomao every time something peculiar happens... he always taught mao mao in a way that her mind keeps staying sharp.

I agree: no matter how clever she is supposed to be, how can she be so sure that there was a mirror in the room? she's never been there, what if there wasn't any?? i guess it's not easy to compose mysteries that fit such a tight setting, but still...

She wasn't, she told him that it could happen if there are a big mirror in the room, which isn't hard to arrive at considering that a mirror recently left a deep impression on her. The discussion stopped because apparently her explanation is satisfying enough, implying the existence of such mirror. If it doesn't exist, they'd simply brainstorm another more likely solution.
