I mean, I feel like he’s more of a gag character. Except he’s not very funny, just kinda cringe. So far I'm enjoying the series but the prince is just ruining it. I mean he isn't remotely compelling as an antagonist and his idiocy is just painful. He alone represents why we don't have monarchies anymore and makes me question how fantasy settings like this with stupid strong adventures and literal magic even allow themselves to be ruled by an arrogant and incompetent royal family. You'd think the monarchs in charge would take great care to raise their children to be respectable with the sole understanding that any of the S rank adventures could at any moment just make the castle disappear (or really a whole country judging by the power scaling these series setup).
It's not a matter of monarchies or sheltered kids from wealthy families being like that. I've seen bitterly jealous people from average as well as poor families who also had great big angry egos. They just could not accept someone else having a "perfect storm" confluence of skills and other self-made self-trained benefits which made them highly excellent at certain tasks or jobs.So far I'm enjoying the series but the prince is just ruining it.
