The most unique thing about this is the fact that the protagonist has facial hair and actually looks older than most other similar characters.

And a he is a former Hero, but so ready to switch side when showed a scene, that just luckily is a scene where human enjoying fighting demon. I mean, what is all that talk to bring peace? When you have an option to end it all, but continue it anyway.
And a trope of virgin hero, who gets blush anytime by sighting heroines.

This needs some serious world building, i.e how the competely separated human and demon world can be at war, or why Fried was surprised about the fact, that it's possible to enter the demon world (seems like this piece of information wasn't known prior, or maybe lost over the years). If they just recently (re)learned how to get to the demon world, did the demons have this information prior to this human invasion and used it to invade to human world? If neither humans nor demons knew previously, than how could there even be war?

My take on how Fried could reincarnate as the new demon lord is due to his timely death after the demon lord's ressurection spell started and his close enough positioning caused demon lord's soul and Fried's body to merge. I'd really like to see some kind of inner dialogue between the 2 in later chapters when Maou's soul, let's say, "awakens", but for now Fried only gained the powers.

@blablablub : If we're going with the whole humans are the real monsters then that sort of thing is better left in the dark to be revealed down the line, just to give MC a shock moment + give him actual motivations to end the war.

@Fug : The demons were getting stomped, so clearly the best move is to take the #1 player on human team and shove him to demon team.
After he got team killed of course.

Looks good and was funny but instant power and possible revenge story makes me feel that it's gonna be bad.

Imagine this, you are a hero who risked their life to fight and kill the demon lord, and all it takes is a cute demon to make you swap sides.

At least make it more convincing, give us a reason why the hero might change sides. Some back story about his sister being half demon, the humans doing something actually atrocious rather than just killing enemies in a war, or even just him falling for a demon with a love at first sight trope. Any reason other than just "Those humans are killing demons! I have to stop them!" - Guy who killed a demon not even a minute ago.
