Imagine if this gets an anime that gets to this chapter, and viewers realize this is supposed to be them

This chapter felt like a horror story, a mysterious village full of people who act... odd and disconnected, living lives that don't make sense, and our "heroes" know that something isn't right, they know these people aren't normal, but they don't know everything that has to be known, and it creates this strange tension.

I can taste the elitism in these pricks, by what the pope said them being only relatives of the true rulers their place in the pecking order is very low, but they are the same type of people... privileged people who are meddling with powers they can hardly understand, but are arrogantly convinced that they are chosen.

The fact they practice this "oakism" only reinforces that, exactly like the guy said... they are bored, I bet they only are doing this to feel something.

This is a textbook example of why humans aren't made to live indefinitely, people's minds are not made for that level of "constancy".

And Poppy just explained why she is a piece of shit... great, now I can hate her with renewed fervor as now I know she is even more of a piece of shit than I thought, I still think she will betray them.

Man this twist about the protag's plight being treated as reality TV for an upper caste is straight out of Danganronpa V3 lol

I think this is getting axed. It is doing very low in sales like <1000 in 4 weeks and the magazine this is published in is releasing 4 new series so this is on the chopping block. Such a shame.
A big part of the manga industry needs to rethink the way they do business and start using platforms like Manga Plus where they release chapters for the west at the same time as in Japan. It's crazy that in the current era there are still so many cases of great series that would do at minimum decently well in the west getting axed because it flops in Japan and they never get brought to the west where they would perform fine.

It's specially bad when it comes to fantasy because the Japanese are alergic to any fantasy setting that isn't the usual extremely formulaic hero's party a la Dragon's Quest and amazing fantasy series keep doing badly there.

If you enjoyed The Bugle Call and hope to see its story come to a satisfying conclusion, please consider purchasing the manga to support the original creators!

Japanese never disappoint when it comes to missing out on peak fantasy.

And I'm worried Poppy gonna be the one sacrificed to become the next "mother" of the Rami. Feels like those stories of women impregnated by ghost/djinn.

Ha... haha... hahahahahaha... aaah... I love seeing people like you in comment sections like this.

It proves the story is good.
Here's your eyepatch chuunibyo 🤣. I never got any good crticism btw. It just proves it's made for easily impressionable redditors and twitter users. Their obsession with 4th wall break and deconstruction makes them feel intelligent 😲. Forget about character development and consistent writing. "So you wanna read a manga about medieval bugle army ? Here instead an alien time travelling truman show. Eat this slop!"
