Some parents really do think of their child's name as a chance to show off their "creativity", whilst completely ignoring the fact that their child needs to live with that name. I remember there was one guy (might have coincidentally been Japanese) who fought very hard to name their child Adolf Hitler (I think that was just their first name too).

Also, fun fact; People with boring traditional names like John or Jane, have a higher statistical likelyhood of being happy - no idea why, might have something to do with people 'living up' to what they're labeled (so people with zany names, act zany, are unahpyp because of it etc).
