Page 10 she was sniffing the jersey in the library before he walked in, which is why she quickly handed him back his jersey she already readily had in her hands. That's also why she looked embarrassed when he noticed the rice stuck to the jersey that she had on her mouth earlier from that same page. Case closed.

He's the type who grew up with an older sister and unconsciously learned mannerisms that are endearing

You can tell by the way his sister adores him and how he tries to act aloof but is easily read

Honestly tho.... he thinks he's such a bad person, but he threw himself onto the fire just to make sure *she* wouldn't be embarrassed. He wasn't even thinking like. 'Oh I'll get bullied/teased'. Like, kid, you're ok. You just have dark thoughts. That's not actually bad! So long as you're a good person, like.... that's just being goth, kid.

Seriously this manga seemed so much at first like it was going to careen into edgy fanservice, but it's genuinely charming....

God I love this manga so much, can't believe Komi san has a rating of 9+ while this is so much better but has a much lower rating. Norio is a fantastic writer and I haven't seen such endearing school romance since Yugami, and that wasn't even a real romance to begin with.

Also, right before Ichikawa enters the library, she was definitely sniffing his jersey.
I'm guessing the first coloured page is her realising that she has his jersey and eight before sniffing it.
@friendly He doesn't even have dark thoughts, he's just a chuuni, when was the last time he even had any dark thoughts?

She actually seemed to know the whole time. You can see her deliberately hiding Ichikawa's name during lunch when people could see it, and she wears it openly when only he's going to notice.

The color page (first page) could be her looking around to make sure no one's there before she starts sniffing it.
