I guessed as much. I wonder how dramatic the real reason is. Is it to the level where someone will die if she doesn't play her role well?

@LaDeeDah it is a bit more complicated than that

Basically, her family is getting too powerful, powerful enough to be put on par with royal family, so there is a high possibility of other nobles/royal family being fed up with that and ruining them for real. Not Tywin-real, but still that could be painful. So she is also pushing for bad ending because that would allow to reduce their influence on acceptable level without giving up too much/provoking royals to make an excuse. Since she knows the heroine is a lost princess, she makes safe bet on trying to antagonize her personally to fully take the imminient fallout on herself. Also, she partly wishes to go business lady route. Can't really do that as a noblewoman of influental house

On the topic - I basically LOVE how chill she is about Addie's, ah, hobbies. Even graciously reading it for hours, should he make a mistake to leave it to her, xD

If only more heroines could be as chill as her in that matter)))

Isn't she accidentally shooting herself in the foot then? She is the princess' best friend, is helping the princess get her future husband, and so on. It isn't really her intent, but it would reflect poorly on the princess at this point to try to do anything about her. The most anyone can say is that she is being somewhat bitchy to her, and honestly, she isn't that bad.

Yeah, it is exceptionally refreshing that she does not care about his reading material.

Ah, that's right, the 'condemning scene' will be pretty ankward, even if there will be some people who'll try that on her for real. Not Bertia-level ankward, but still (I read both WN).
But even so, befriending lost princess, even if accidentally, actually spares them this kind of trouble - can't really blame them for being loyalists.

Chilly reading this kind of book in one hand and drinking tea in other - Kakashi-sensei would have approved!
