ahhhhh that’s rough. Definitely gonna have to go back and reread this series when the last chapter drops though. Hopefully everything gets tied up nicely. Thanks for the translation!

from her limited POV, it just seems like she doesnt care about her at all
Does it look different from the reader's PoV? Being hurt is not a justification for hurting others. We can maybe better understand why she is like that, but I don't see it as a saving grace. Ami may have been starting to get there, but at some point, it's simply too little too late.

And like Rei said, she never communicates anything important. You can't really see it as anything else than expecting to be given, while not investing much in return.

If anything, I think Rei lasted way longer than any normal, self-respecting person would. It could really be felt in this chapter, how much damage has been done: questioning every action, suspecting every situation, like a beaten dog, flinching at every little noise. Surviving first love like this, I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up with life-long relationship issues.

I hope we won't have to wait as long for the last chapter... Pretty please 🙏
I can't even find raws for this to mtl it, so this is the only way to see the end...

My God finally! She could have pushed her one last time.
Never forget kids, explaining is not forgiving.
Unfortunately, they are not going to end like that. Ami needs her redemption phase 😒

The only thing is bothering me is the characters minds chance each chapter without further buildup, its understandable but the chapters don't make a toxicity combo for this resolution to be more definitive

Decided to read it back, and Id like to think in a sense her key issue was hinted at in Chapter 3 with the text message, which we later find is likely related to her mom.

Sad thing is, it seemed she was slowly improving after the fever, but she fumbles at the goal by both indecision and an inconvenient phone call. Tuff, but from 4 eyes' perspective... yeah I think even her naivity had reached its wits end.

I think the big problem is that mf over here has a hard time expressing her true self because her mother is barely around, and hardly seems to respond to her, so her feelings, good or bad, arent really reprimanded or praised, likely leading to apathy. Not a justification by any means, but it does explain the carefree nature she has.

I wonder how they'd even justify a reconnection after that? Only way that'd happen is if the mother void could be filled, which MC is not gonna fill at this stage...

Whatever happened to Rei's "I'll always love you until we die" then
Resolve clashing with reality.
It was easy to say at the time, especially when Ami was being dismissive/distant, thus not creating any emotional waves in the dynamic. Ami is distant, Rei is pursuing. Standard for them.

Now Rei was put in a situation where Ami was being good to her, essentially acting like a girlfriend would, but she, in turn, can't stop looking for agendas and lies in everything that's happening. That experience has shown her, that even if Ami's behavior would change, Rei herself is already broken and can't trust Ami. And all those doubts, even when in the middle of a fun date with her crush, just make her feel miserable.

Yeah that makes sense, it's just kind of odd pacing wise, so that all doesn't read very well to me in the story.

I feel like Rei's whole "I'll love you until we die" thing is still in effect. You can love someone without wanting a relationship with them.

oh hey this is still around, thanks (at least the friends seem a bit self aware, would be nice to see some cute wholesome spinoff or so by the same author so we get one happy ending XP)

man this whole time it was just mommy issues

I feel like if she's allowed to have a job at her age and being popular enough among the other classmates i'd prolly either constantly sleepover at friends places while earning money to live on my own/be emancipated or something unless there's some bs where you can't fully cut off parents as a minor unless it's an extreme case where the police has to get involved but so far i think her moms just been neglectful as opposed to anything that'd be a red flag (still shitty as a parent tho)

I feel like Rei's whole "I'll love you until we die" thing is still in effect. You can love someone without wanting a relationship with them.
She clearly wants a relationship tho, as opposed to just quietly stalking/watching her from a distance even tho it does seem like a breakup at the last page

I meant from 4 eyes, not us.

It def would add to the 'psych' tag if she decided to go sociopathic and find out everything about the mother and either try to imitate and replace her if not full yandere and literally kill everyone and the mother so she has no other options, jail aside lol

"I can't give you unconditional love" after "I'm not with her to be rewarded" makes her seem a bit hypocritical, but then again she's still a kid, and the author just can't seem to make an appealing drama out of these characters even with all the gorgeous, florescence art.

I just reread all the story and this chapter seems pretty out of character for Rei if I'm being honest. I don't understand why she was so upset this chapter when just last chapter she was all lovey-dovey taking care of a sick Ami.
