@Roark : I have seen people call the 1st chapters intro promo artwork (the higher quality first few pages that are common to see) of another series a spoiler when used on the credits page for ch 8+ (I forget which ch exactly, but it contained only characters that had been introduced in the story). do you really expect people to remember stuff from ch 1 when it has been 7 months since a translated ch was posted.

ok wtf is the timeline here? last time mc was shown (2 chapters ago) he was just starting his battle against the orcs then last chapter we randomly starts following this girl and now we're followng blue hair girl and MC makes an appearance in town. why is this random chapter(s) just shoved in out of no where? it doesn't fit and makes no sense, i feel like we're being trolled either by the translator or by the author.

@Scrabbleman Rather than feeling rushed, I feel like the chapters are all out of order... the last panel of this chapter hints that we’ll be returning to the storyline with Zeros in the forest next chapter, but this is going to happen after introducing a new character with a whole chapter dedicated to her, then spending another chapter on a sickness side plot with a different character..?? Why didn’t this just happen after? Is there something happening in the next few chapters that justifies this weird pacing? Sure hope so, because the story is genuinely pretty decent otherwise (for the most part) and the pacing is kinda ruining it for me a bit

I've read the WN translation which is ahead of the manga so I think I understand and can explain what happened.

When the WN got adapted to LN I think the importance of some characters got recognized (since WN is kind of like a draft version), they tried to hastily create a better/more comprehensive character introduction for a more important side character, Iris (the loli black hair girl). While I haven't read the LN my guess is they spliced in this "chapter" (manga chapters 12 and 13) as some side chapter in between main line story chapters (with the MC). All of the stuff in manga chapters 12 & 13 do not appear anywhere in the WN.

Another person was transported to the world of the game and the story took a break from following the MC to tell that other person story and it is showing that she is also a high level player that adapted to the world with child like wonder instead of adult like reasoning.

@YueEr Got it, thanks for explaining. I’m glad that these side stories weren’t for no reason, and we’re instead in preparation for future storybeats. It makes me feel more confident in this series (though, they probably could’ve put these chapters before our MC and his disciples went out into the woods. That would’ve been a much less jarring place to tell the side stories from)
