@Hollow7F yeah, it's a bit weird, maybe it's a side effect of turning back time, I hope it's either that or him trying to act like a kid so she can act like one, or maybe having to undertake so much responsibility at a young age he couldn't really mature properly so he blocked any feelings he thought are childlike and became the emperor he was, but his childlike personality was still sleeping within him so when time turned back and he decided to change so that she and others could be happy it creeped to the surface , idk I just keep trying to make up reason for the changes he goes through.

To those wondering the contradiction of the trashy parents, it's cause they aren't thinking JUST about the marriage with the prince. They want her to be this "perfect" empress. Their abuse is what led to Lizzie brainwashing herself into being this puppet whose sole purpose for existing is to become this "perfect" empress. All they are seeing is children playing. They likely are looking at how Lizzie got dirty playing and such, and thus see it as a disgrace to their family.

In other words, they deserve to die a miserable death. That or they deserve to be stripped of status and made into peasants, which they would see as a fate worse than death.
