I know! I was confused, but look at the description again. It says she's engaged to the imperial prince... prince... not the emperor, who's Egbert... so SIDIS IS ACTUALLY THE SON OF EGBERT, RIGHT? THE PRINCE, RIGHT??? Because Egbert is no longer prince, but emperor. Right???

So since the heroine saved sidis when he is young because that what it looks like in ch1, and because she is now engaged to him that can only means two things:
First: sidis is the real emperor and the current emperor is a body double
Second: the title is translated wrong and our life is a lie

Rreaderz: nope, title should be okay, I've just double checked. I also thought of Sidis being the emperor and the woof-woof being the body double (or, god forbid, a real dog transformed into a person), but then, Sidis wouldn't be put into such danger, fighting and so on... would he?
Also, I'm really not sure if my hunch was right. I'm getting moar confused. Hurry up, chapters, I wanna know the secreeeeet!

It's something like: "The emperor's court lady is sought-after as a bride."

She is an MC straight out of a shoujo. I mean I normally would not like her, I men she's very timid and passive. BUT she's also able to defend herself so this is definitely a plus. And she isn't going about it in a pompous way as if the mangaka is shoving feminism in your face. She's actually pretty humble. I think I just may enjoy this.

Her personality changed too much from when she was supposedly a royal guard, She said she was in her 60's before she got reincarnated which should have established her personality but somehow 16 or so years as a poor nobles daughter turned her into a timid bunny that freaks out at the smallest problem.

At least she kept her knowledge of combat, despite randomly deciding not to train herself after being reincarnated, which she mentions is a problem in chapter 4.

@Pocky8 I think they're siblings, with Sidis being the younger brother. If the emperor doesn't have any kids, his younger sibling would be the heir. I'm still confused over whether she saved Sidis or Egbert though.

I'm with the folks that thinks the third title translation, "The Emperor Hopes for the Court Lady as His Bride" is wrong—I'm not great with the fancy archaic Japanese used but it's clear the subject (or object?) is left out, and since everyone's used to filling in implied subjects and whatnot when translating Japanese into English, someone assumed it was the Emperor doing the wanting (as is natural—the Emperor is the only other person mentioned in the title, it's not a big leap), but that is not what's actually happened in the story. Rather, the Emperor is the only one of the three central male characters who isn't aiming for her hand. And we're in pretty firm shoujo-trope territory as to whom is going to come out on top, it would seem, barring any twists.

As such, I'm removing that translation. (i.e. "The Emperor Hopes for the Court Lady as His Bride")

It’s weird that she didn’t keep all her habits as a knight. Given that she was the escort of the crown prince in her previous life, she would have probably been one of the top knights of her time. Her being a knight for years should have made her feel a need for regular training, meaning she shouldn’t be complaining about having a frail body since she’d have been training or then at least she’d be complaining why her training wasn’t working, and surely have had the etiquette of a knight, meaning she should still have a habit of saluting to the king as a knight, and also she should also have had the sense of danger that should have let her notice the attack just as fast as Sidis did. Plus having been the knight closest to the prince, I wouldn’t even question if she had pledged her life to protect him and should have still had the habit of going into action and rushing in front of him to protect him. Not that she didn’t, but she only fought back because she was told to go somewhere safe and hide. Not really getting the vibes of an ex-knight like they’re trying to make her out to be.
