I spent the whole chapter waiting for Heitz to start espousing the ninja way from the Hidden Village of Scales.

Thanks for the chapter!

I'm glad they brought back the dad. I'm curious to see how that will go for him and Elma. My guess is that seeing his son lead a team will cause him to finally understand the need for change and rely on others, like the other nobles.
Or... get him entrenched in his views even further, or say that because he banished his son, MC became so strong

I'm really starting to like Marquis Hulrod, he put Count Edvan on blast with zero hesitation, and has entirely valid points with everything he said. Edvan's mentality is archaic, his aim is literally putting all his eggs in one basket by making sure the head of the family is the strongest with nothing beyond that. Even worse is that the 'Sword Saint' he's bet everything on is a complete fucking psychopath.

And unlike Edvan, Hulrod sees exactly how valuable Elma is, not just for his unusual strength & skill for a Heavy Knight but his insight as well.

The marquis is cunning but he prioritized the realm's best interest. The kingdom's chance of survival would take a hit when one of the four nobilities is stuck in an outdated ideology.

I wouldn't be surprised if for him, Elma is just another tool/argument to convince the Edvands to take another look at their way of doing things.
