Second kill was explicitly split 4 ways. So if Elma got sole credit for the first kill, then he should have gotten 9 to 10k exp. Instead he got about half of that. No one other than Elma got a hit on first mob. So who got the other half?

The only other person interacting in any way with first mob was Maybel who the mob aggroed on. She didn't cast a heal on Elma during his fight, so she didn't even have an support action. ... Unless there's some weird rule like "Healers in party always count as 'participating' even if they don't actually heal."

Again, I think the first one was split two ways: Elma and Maybell. An easy solution is that exp goes to everyone on the mob's aggro table. And Maybell got on the aggro table because she face pulled it when she ran past it.
