Chapter came waayyyyyyyyyyyyy quicker then I ever expected!! Thank you, seriously.

I'm really loving how things are playing out. I wonder how the ending is going to be like, an open one? Where nothing really gets resolved. A true ending?? Where Natori ends up with someone. Or maybe a harem route?? Or maybe even a bad ending???

The possibilities are endless. But I just hope it wont disappoint...

I just feel bad for Diana tbh... Like sure she's impulsive, has a lot to learn, and borders on being needy; but, all of these actually make sense given she's been starved for affection or acknowledgement so wants the one person who gave her it to be happy. She's basically a puppy: loves her "owner" and fiercely protective of them. She genuinely cherish's Natalie and wants her to feel the happiness Natalie gave herself, but just is bad at going about it.

But the thing is this is exactly the same as Natalie. Natalie has said herself she is needy (a busybody), she has a lot to learn, and is impulsive. While bordering on obsessive to not have to face the disappointment of others even if she doesn't understand why they would be disappointed in the first place (she still insists on not understanding why they didn't like her being a busybody after all). Just like Diana she craves the affection and acceptance of those around her which is why she becomes so clingy to Lapis while knowing full well Lapis wants to commit genocide on commoners (and does later in the original story). She clings to the first person to not reject her because of her neediness just like Diana does. If anything Diana makes the perfect partner for her because they both understand the other's feelings so well. Just... Natalie doesn't wanna understand those around her without realizing it :worry:

Which brings to third point: Lapis. Diana can tell Natalie everything she needs to hear and wants to hear, but Natalie is either blind to it because the Author makes her dense as a bag of bricks; or, because she only ever seems to understand when Lapis tells her the exact same sentiment somewhat reworded to which she remembers what Diana said showing she does recognize what Diana was trying to say.
But the issue here is Lapis is not only very cold and controlling on the outside, Natalie herself knows full well that she really is manipulative. Natalie herself tells us, the readers, and reminding herself that Lapis is a notorious liar and manipulator who has a plan to commit genocide if things go her way. Meaning we have no reason to trust anything Lapis says; nor, the feelings she barely shows since those very likely are just fake given she show the exact same affections towards Diana, who is a commoner: aka the exact people she despises and wants to kill.

I get I'm full team Diana, but the author is just really trying to force LapisxNatalie right now ignoring the massive red flags from Lapis (compared to the orange flags Diana has given she's clearly just needing guidance), and making Natalie into either an idiot for the sake of plot convience, purposefully making her dense as a bag of bricks when it's convient, or more than likely both :pout:

You can't deny that Diana is in her yandere mode now, can you? :shamihuh:
I'm surprised no one is aware of Lapis-sama's scheme. I can see Lapis-sama eyeing Diana's magic stone so openly, though. :dogkek:
And I hope what she said to Natori is actually sincere. I dig for this ship, after all. And it better sail!!! :glee::glee:

My views still haven't changed much. Lapis is cold as heck, everything she does and says feels very calculated and performative, and the fact that MC is swooning over her every gesture can't be explained by anything other than plot convenience.
Or gayness. Perhaps Lapis is simply more of her type.
It may be pointless but I'm really hoping to send Lapis with the prince and we get the Diana route. Lapis is way too distant and seems more like a celebrity crush than actually liking her character.

This... but if we send Lapis sama to the prince I bet natori will miss her master and it will only hurt Diana

There's been more than enough from Lapis' private moments to suggest that she does indeed have growing feelings for Natori. Lapis also has her own backstory that explains the way she is and she also needs someone to break down her boundaries, a thing that Natori has proven able to do more than anyone else. We also do not know why Lapis does what she does. It will likely be much more complicated than just desiring genocide if that is even still what she wants. She clearly has a lot on her mind and that affects her ability to be carefree. Diana is likely not dealing with the same level of stress and has much more time to do as she likes with less potentially depending on her. Things are not going as they did in the original game (and these isekai generally flip these things on their head).

We are getting to see what she's actually like compared to what the game generally described. Remember that in Lapis's first interaction with Natori, she mentions another who had the foresight and she does so with sadness (likely her dead sister, whose death I imagine plays a part in all this). There is more to her character and we already know that there are things happening in the background that has made her reserved. Natori is also not dense, but aware of this different side to Lapis. She's verbalized this in the earlier chapters, that her perception of Lapis based on the game does not seem to fit the girl she sees before her.

Even with that, she has shown moments of that wall cracking when around Natori. For example, think of the summoning cage where they keep their summons. Initially, Lapis would put Natori there, but in this recent chapter when Natori did so on her own Lapis clearly disliked it and wanted to say something but prevented herself. Or think of when Natori nearly died, and how shocked and anxious Lapis was at that moment (likely related to her sister again). I mean re-read that ending of chapter 2, how Lapis shakenly melts in Natori's embrace and notice the revelation that Natori comes to (the narrative is hinting at their being more here). That went well beyond the manipulative, scheming employer character. Or consider Chapter 4, when Lapis specifically tells Natori to betray her if she feels she is evil, as she reminisces about this other young sister again (and Natori rejects). ETC.

So their relationship is not a one-way street. Lapis isn't just a bland dominating character, she also has depth there and Natori is helping her as much as she is helping Natori. I also do not agree that Diana has said the same things as Lapis but that's a whole different thing. Diana is nice for sure, but that is partly why Lapis wants her around Natori in the first place, as Lapis says in this chapter, to help Natori learn her self worth.

honestly with the way this is going, i totally see diana becoming lost in her need to protect natori to the point where she actually ends up hurting her. like a final battle scene where its diana vs lapis, with diana fighting for natori’s protection/affection (lapis with the same goal, yet using her “get rid of all commoners” plan as a disguise). then during the fight there’d be a close call where diana almost hurts natori, and lapis jumps in to save her, forcing lapis’s façade to fall while causing diana to finally realize what she’s become. i feel like natori will be loyal to lapis til the end, still showing diana mercy but nothing more since it seems diana’s love for her is unrequited.

or smthn completely different could happen idk i love both love interests so im just here for the experience <3

thank you for this !!! i don’t understand the lapis slander, she has so much depth. both diana and lapis are written so well, that’s why it’s hard to choose who to root for.

I’m thinking this is more of the “I can fix her” or “I can save her” type things here. We already know that the MC likes taking care of things on her own and overworks herself, and there’s already been some sympathy points with the whole “she’s tough on the outside but looks lonely and sad on the inside.”
personally not a huge fan of this since the Lapis route so far has felt more and more like the romance is being created rather than flowing well.
Agreed, afterall MC does know she's crooked in the head and knows what she's willing to do.

I hope the prince gets more development, as i have yet to find a character i dislike on this (but the prince atm is just a generic prince)
