This manhwa is great at demonstrating women's internalized misogyny tbh. Harsen and Ercella are both terrible parents, but the mother will be the one bearing the brunt of the blame because she is always the one expected to be emotionally connected to her child. A father providing for and educating the child isn't enough - he should also make an effort to be kind to the child. Ercella fucked up by abandoning her kid, but what's good is that she knows what she did was wrong and wants to correct her mistake. Harsen is acting so self-righteously just because he did the bare minimum of acknowledging his son. We often attack female characters that do this more than male characters, because being a distant father just seems to be more forgivable to more people.

Harsen treats his son like some robotic pet, Ercella abandoned her kid because of her postpartum depression... but we have to remember that they're both humans. Humans can be assholes, reckless, and selfish. They're both making mistakes but you shouldn't put down Ercella just because she's a woman. She's a flawed human being, just like Harsen, and that family is dysfunction as all hell. Vincente deserved better, but people don't always get what they deserve. If he has it in his heart to forgive his parents if they prove themselves to be on the path to...well being better parents, then good for him. It's already a miracle that he has a fairly healthy mental health state without have developed impostor syndrome or some sort of CPTSD.

He stated himself that he neglected his duties as a husband and father so what right does he have to say all this to Ercella? At least she's trying to make amends with Vicente. Vicente's the way he is, nonchalant about himself, because both Harsen and Ercella failed as parents, but at least Ercella is putting some thought into his future now. Honestly, Harsen's just as horrible of a parent because he demanded perfection and overloaded Vicente. Both really didn't treat their son as an individual person.

Yoo why did he blame her so much? He should have confronted her in the first place and had been a good father too. Mind you, they are a FAMILY that lives in the same household. They see each other, they knew something was wrong. Communication is the key.

Yo why is he suddenly confronting her about her not being a good mother?Wasnt he fine with it before? What's with the sudden confrontation.I mean yh it's late but shestat least trying now and it's not like ml bothered to try he even admits to neglecting both of them.So the blame should be to both of the but let's not forgot she wasnt even an adult when she gave birth and got married.

fuck fuck fuck this is devastating on all levels. the way she probably suffered from postpartum depression n was forced to have a child at 17, but she was wrong for taking her anger out on her son. i understand harsen needed to tell her she was a bad mom to wake her up but its not like he was a great father either since he raised his son like an emotionless doll. idk this is just sad really because its not really one person's fault but a culmination of both their neglect and trauma

Harsen is telling Ercella to stand down because she has been a neglectful mother for 15 years and now is suddenly challenging his decisions. She is trying to get along with her son now. But for the past 15 years, Harsen has been making the parenting decisions. It’s pretty extreme for her to suddenly start demanding inclusion when she has no idea what’s been on. And she isn’t even trying to learn or mend her relationship with her husband. She just keeps opposing Harsen while she hangs out with Vicente.
