You say that like translation groups get money. Reality check, they don't.Insulting snipers is pretty messed up since these take time to do and are basically done for free. The sniper basically worked on a chapter for nothing.
Copied what? His credit page says he used the spanish scans to tl it, but what exactly did he steal from them?He is stealing, in fact he has copied from the Spanish scan. If you do not have values and respect, it is not the fault of the rest. Many of you talk a lot about how it doesn't matter and that we are whiners, but if something like this were to happen to you, you would be just as angry as we are.
@Exocitus It's a pretty decent first release, thanks for the effort.
The Spanish group is being butthurt about this and trying to pull a Batoto.
One problem: this isn't Batoto.
I think you could've been a bit more clear by saying that you used a portion of the Spanish release (i.e. redraws, translations) in your own English release. Using a JP raw -> clean example (below) in your credits page wasn't a great idea either, because a few people who couldn't comprehend English and context saw it as implying you basing your entire chapter on the Japanese raws.
They also claim these (see below) in #support on the Discord server, but I don't see any such claims from you. Could you elaborate on that please?
Overall, I don't believe anything was "stolen" here. Groups retranslate based on other groups' works all the time, and there's no need to get worked up because of that. If you're scanlating something, you should understand that you are essentially releasing it into the public without any licensing or copyright on your part.
MD grants you control over your own releases and some basic protections against blatant copying (reuploading of your chapters, etc) but a re-translation into an entirely different language, although frowned upon if it's not from the original, is not against the rules.
As for "sniping", as a concept it is absolute bullshit. You don't hold rights over a certain title's releases at all. This isn't Batoto. Groups can release as they wish, and aren't obliged to follow your opinion on whoever should be scannielating a series at all. Please grow up and do something better with your time, rather than complain on the mongolian basket weaving forums.
Why not text them yourself?I tought I was pretty clear with the credits at first before all the drama, that's why I corrected afterward. Like I said, I used a mix between JP and Spanish scans, I used the JP as a example because in this case that's the one that I used for the RD, like almost all pages aside from the cover (which I stated on the notes).
The lying bit is basically about how I'm lying that I'm the same guy from reddit, even if the account is a new one, the email is a new one and I would for sure not use my personal account/nicknames knowing that I would get flamed for, but again, I can't prove anything, neither can they, so it is what it is.
I saw this on #support, I didn't denied anything, they didn't even contact me (even if the email is explicit on the ending notes), they were talking about mass reporting me at MD discord to see if they could take the chapter down. The funny thing is, if they contacted me directly I would take the chapter down, send the RD for them (if they wanted to) and even do TS if they need some help, I joined their discord around the time I released the first chapter and saw all the shittalk over there.
And I agree with your opnion about the whole "sniping" concept like I said before, but this seems to be a unpopular opinion.
Anyway, thanks for the support, have a good one.
I was going to after the drama of the first chapter, until I saw all the shittalk on the #kaoru-hana, if my RD are so horrific, my TL is so bad, I'm so dumb, I should get mass reported and I should just kms then I don't think there is much to talk. Why not text them yourself?
Maybe this misunderstanding should be cleared: weekly chapters is goddamn fast. While I didn't want to take part in this whole fiasco, I got curious as to how you've gotten into the assumption that weekly chapters is not blazingly fast, when other series with an equal amount of content per chapter get several months for each update. But if they are not willing to speed things up I don't see a reason that someone else can't try to make faster chapters with a explict note saying that this is not a definitive edition.
Dude "speed things up", it's already fast. Most people are lucky to get stuff within a month, much less a week or week and a half. They even did the sound effects which you did sparsely of. Which means they cleaned, redrew, and then went the extra effort to find the sound effect noise that would sound the most organic and natural in English.I was going to after the drama of the first chapter, until I saw all the shittalk on the #kaoru-hana, if my RD are so horrific, my TL is so bad, I'm so dumb, I should get mass reported and I should just kms then I don't think there is much to talk.
Still my email is open, like I said, if they want to talk I can even contact them on discord so they know who I'm there. I already answered a couple of emails in this subject, some people that are not even staff were more willing to talk than the staff itself, and some conviced me to focus on other mangas or just help them.
I still stand about the timers on the first chapter, I didn't do it to say that the 'I rather sleep' team is bad or lazy or that I'm "that good", just to put in perspective if there is some arbitrary time wasting to not catch up to raws in their workflow that they could take care of (and maybe explain in more details why it takes one week for one chapter), even if people are busy. Also to show that maybe they should ask for help, on the discord the only help wanted is a TS for The Healer as far as I can tell, so I don't think they are actively looking for help.
I still stand for what I said, if they want to talk, to contact me, I'm all open to it, I can delete the uploaded chapters, send them the RD/Clear chapters and the ones I was working already, I don't even need any credits or anything like that. But if they are not willing to speed things up I don't see a reason that someone else can't try to make faster chapters with a explict note saying that this is not a definitive edition.
Yeah, not to mention "not willing" and "not able" are two very different things. Even if you somehow had volunteers to spare, throwing more people at a problem is not always the answer. Five middling typesetters are not a replacement for one guy who can actually do a high quality job.Maybe this misunderstanding should be cleared: weekly chapters is goddamn fast. Again with this "For no Reason" These people have lives ya know. They cannot put multiple hours a day into a manga when there's other, more pressing, matters.Weekly chapters are fast when we are talking about a up to date release, at least for me. Like I said maybe I was spoiled by some groups and should not think like that, but I fully believe that with a manga that is not up to date it is possible to do at least two chapters per week.
The other reason was maybe the lack of transparency, so to speak, on discord, if the schedule was a little more open and explained why they are not able to release more than one chapter each week, besides the "we are busy people", I would not misunderstand this whole thing thinking that they are maybe slowrolling the manga for no reason.

You're jsut sounding more obstinant to any sort of offering given. It sounds less like you can not see the perspective, and more so you refuse to understand it. You use the Spanish group, but they're also not even translating, cleaning, and redrawing the sound effects like you. When they do tl the sound effects, they toss it on or next to it, not cleaned or redrawn. People have given you reasons, you're not accepting them.Everyone has lives and everyone can dedicate some hours a day for something that they like, be it playing games, reading or doing work on a manga. Like I said it's not transparent what these pressing matters are, everyone is busy somehow and if you are willing to do a scanlation work I think most can agree that they know they will be putting multiple hours a day into this.
Of course, maybe with a more explained schedule it would make more sense for a reader's perspective, like myself, but being in the dark and being told that they are "very busy", that they "will not speed up things" or that they don't want to hire more staff to split the work, hence they don't have anything on the #we-need-staff, just look like a slowrolling.
This frustration was at its peak when I did the first scan, undoubtedly in a lower quality but at a very fast pace, which for my perspective did make things even stranger to why they could not do 2 chapter per week with someone focused in TL, another one in CL/RD and even having the Spanish group as their friend (and probably sharing material) which I got to know after joining the discord, thus making even less sense for me.
And even more so that if they caught up to raws, they would be at a weekly pace and without any problem whatsoever and could take breaks when the manga took a break itself. The Spanish group took this approach and it worked, this is another reason why it seems so weird to me.
And of course I can be wrong about all that, they can have a very good reason why everything I just talked about is wrong, but again, from a reader's perspective I can not see it right now.
You are actively ignoring what even the Developers of this website are saying in that weekly is incredibly fast, you are being impatient and want the newest stuff right now, but that's not how it works. Anyways, I am done with this whole conversation, you should go and talk to the team, not wait for them to come to you.Everyone has lives and everyone can dedicate some hours a day for something that they like, be it playing games, reading or doing work on a manga. I would also like to question if you can even vouch for the accuracy of the Spanish translation, if its comparable to proper grammer fluidity of what is seen in the original Japanese?

1. On their discord, they've said that they're working on it and are targeting a weekly release to their best efforts. They've done just that for at least 2 months. Isn't that transparent enough?Weekly chapters are fast when we are talking about a up to date release, at least for me. Like I said maybe I was spoiled by some groups and should not think like that, but I fully believe that with a manga that is not up to date it is possible to do at least two chapters per week.

I have to say my dude, The things I said on Discord were mostly sarcastic. I wouldn't doxx you and I wouldn't mass report you. Either take time and effort and I am not going to waste those when I can just shit around lmao. The people who were part of the convo all understood that its sarcastic.I accepted the reasons and gave mine, the same way you are refusing to see my logic or my perspective. I can also not see the logic in your words, even if I understand them.
I'm not alone on this, you can go and see some people that are agreeing with me, here or on reddit, but the only thing that matters here for people like you is if I give up and just accepted blindly any reason the group or any person give me an shut up, without really wanting to discuss and see the other side.
I know the Spanish group don't do all the CL/RD still they caught up to the raws even if they had to sacrifice a little on the details, many people care about reading the work rather than the small details, this is why I explicit said on the notes that this is a speed version and for people that wanted a definitive version they could just wait the "I rather sleep" group, I gave my reasons you're not accepting them.
Also a lot of groups do a double version, one without the SFX and one, at a later date, with a more detailed TL including the SFX and if the main reason that they are doing one chapter per week is that they lack the manpower on CL/RD for the SFX them they would already post it up on the #we-need-staff on their discord (or in the chapter itself), or even talked about it, which they clearly didn't do it, again not transparent enough.
The group itself vouched for the Spanish TL, like I said they are friends and on the #kaoru-hana-spoilers they vouched for the Spanish version for anyone interested in reading further ahead of them, so either the group is lying or you can accept their own word.
I didn't ignore, I read it and answered with my perspective, you are the one ignoring and trying to rely on drama even on discord since yesterday, calling for the mass report, doxxing, for the group to threat to drop the manga, to make another weak break for people to be scared, to block everyone that is agreeing with me even if a little just so they cannot read future chapters and a lot more.
And this is kinda how it works, I showed that it's possible by doing it by myself alone, of course if you want to wait for the other TL you are free to do so, it was always simple like that.
And I will wait for them to talk with me after all things yesterday on discord, even if I already shared somethings it them by a third party and tried to clarify things (which clearly you don't know about and still tries to talk like you do).
