From a writing perspective, this chapter was entirely pointless.
Fatso isn't a threat in any way, neither combat-wise, mental, influential, etc. and wasn't dealt with in a way that changed the paradigm(Like him having had set up any redeeming traits a redemption arc could come from, any from this point would just be asspulls).
I know he is an easy antagonist and all, but this entire arc with him is a complete waste of time for the readers. Better yet, he could be completely written out of the story and the reason for the MC's firing be slightly altered and nothing would change.

I know this author here isn't alone with these kinds of writing errors, but damn, it's rather noticeable that he wastes his and the readers time with this shit.

I’m wondering what his endgame actually is. So he kills them, so what. Not like things will start going well for their department anyway as it’s shit.
Like so many other manga villains, he fails to understand his own incompetence and looks for a scapegoat for everything that goes wrong in his life. "Our production can't keep up with demand? Must be that damned bastard's fault, who quit!" such is his thinking.
He doesn't have high enough intellect to even think about an endgame.

Why does the twins wear that veil again?, is there something i'm missing here?
if i'm not forgot
the veil have a sentimental value for them
*maybe their parents made that veil for their daughters (on the novel, it's not explained who exactly made the veil)

Ya know when you really think about him trying to kill rust is really stupid. After all isn't rusts friend considered a hero and highly respected and rust is under her imployment. So I'm pretty sure no one could complain if she killed him herself.

I kind of feel that this battle is unnecessary. They already knew, or at least had an idea, that the guy is evil based on the elder sister's future sight. So there wasn't much reason to interact with him, as they could've instead attempted to subdued him before he tried anything.
You can't subdue anyone for something they haven't done on the basis of one person's powers and if it goes to like court or something he would be done for

Am I the only one a little disappointed that Rust didn't summon badgers to deal with the mushrooms? Or maybe a snake?

In this setting, accomplished alchemist is a force to be reckoned with. Rihalzam, alone, was pretty confident in his ability to take out a whole domain, complete with veteran warriors. Rihalzam hates fighting, but he was shown to be quite devastating, so his confidence isn't entirely baseless.
And of course, in a story about land reclamation, the side effects of a battle between alchemists are also a serious concern.
